wouh Liz. no, i dont think i heard that Painkiller, Bill Laswell's album yet. I'll check it out.
He sure has done work with loads of people, and has been doing it for quite a while. He's worked with out right Masters, such as with Zakir Hussain in the Tabla Beat Science project.
http://www.uprisemgt.com/artists/tbs/tbsbio.php

he's got some excellent ambiant, chill, space music, trip hop and dubby stuff.
A classic i'd say.

Cenacle..i heard a couple songs, and first hearing sounded like happy weird poppy pop. a bit like a bunch of freaks having fun and making music using funky noises and zoo toons. i'd like to hear more.

i have been listening to the last Boards of Canada album: The Campfire Headphase.
What to say of a BOC album?
It's BOC.

One thing interesting about BOC is that you can hear the Sandison brothers sound waves and know its them. A couple notes and the brothers take you right into their musical space. This is not an easy thing to do for electronic music, when there is no voice to guide you to a face, or a guitar riff to a bands name. Electronic music, in this sense, can seem less personal, which is an accusation given to electronic music by the not yet converted into electro waves.
yet, BOC, is the very sound which shows how a keyboard, a twick, a blip and a blop, can be used as personally as a flute, or any so called "classical instrument".

"Typical of the enigma that is Boards Of Canada, in The Campfire Headphase they have created something of a paradox: immediately satisfying yet leaving you desperately craving more...."

about music favorites....
has there ever been  a top 20 SpiritPlants  musicians or albums list made yet?
i think it'd be a nice thing to put on a radio site page.

ithink i'd vote for BOC as one of the top 20 electronics, just because its what they sound like to me, classical music played on computers.

The Smithereens...Especially for You

I saw them live in Austin at the BackYard on their "A Date with the Smithereens" tour and was about 2 rows from the stage with the German chick I took.  I caught my only guitar pick at that show.

Hey cenacle...if you can tune in right now to the radio, St Germain's Disco Volante show just started his sunday show. He will play some Freak Folk for us!!!
So tune in, or be square :D

Devendra Banhart is probably the most important one.
and also Animal Collective but then there's Joanna Newsome, Six Organs of Admittance, Cocorosie, and more...

Hey Fuzz!!

Well, I got a copy of the Boards of Canada (Sorry, when I think BOC, I think Blue Oyster Cult...) album "Twoism".

How could anyone resist a title like that? Is this a typical kind of work for these guys? Looks like they have a ton of albums. What's your favorite album by these guys?

Ambient/experiemental. Is kind of what I would call it. It's really one of those perfect albums to have in the background...Did you ever listen to Brian Eno's "Thinking Man's Music"?

What else ya got? Wanna do some trading?

Love!!

the Boards of Canada dont have that many albums yet out actually. nothing compared to a  mega producer such as Aphex Twins for example.
They have :
Music Has the Right to Children, Geogaddi, In a Beautiful Place Out In the Country, Twoism and finally The Campfire Headphase. So, its 5 albums so far.

i dont have a favorite one, but you cant miss the Geogaddi album, with such classic tracks as Music Is Math (5:21), Dandelion (1:14),The Beach At Redpoint (4:18) and more. An amazing album. But i do like Music has the right to children a whole lot too.

Yeah, its great stuff to have in the background, or its great to relax with and dive into your own head space guided by their music. A bit like Music for Airports by Brian Eno. I havent heard much Eno yet, and i know hes one of those people I have to study, so i havent heard "thinking mans music" yet.

um , got a lot of tunes here. what would you like to trade?

for more  Blue Oyster Cult...DAHHHHH  i mean Boards of canada, pitchfork has some great reviews and interviews:

At the moment I am listening to Burnt Friedman - Plays Love Songs. A nice groovy loungy trippy album, with nice beats, mellow sound, and a funky and a slightly porn feel to it. An album that makes you want to sit down, groove it out and be taken into a feel of smooth love-beat progression. And you come out refreshed :)

Another album i am currently listening to is Dictaphone - M.Addiction.
A very nice mellow electronica album, with a jazzy touch. The album reminds me of a trip into a friendly grooved up pink jazz world. The clicks and cuts, the sound of a saxophone, some wellplaced samples, typically with a sexy womanvoice, and a good mellow rythm to it, makes for a very well puttogether album.

Last i will mention a track i am in love with is Digital Talk vs. Sase - Digital Sase. Now here is a Psytrack I have long been waiting for. It has a sturdy beat, and crunchy bassline, that hypnotises you immediately. And some very well put together sounds, that is clearly there, but not taking over. This makes for a very flexible psytrack that outs you into a good trance feeling, where the beat changes some rythms, but keeps its flow, and all you wanna do is dance dance and DANCE! :D

P.S. Sorry fuzzy... hadn't seen i was logged in as you :S
