Found a small colony of the cyanofriscosa near the Ballard Locks today.

Here is a foto I took of a clump.

This is the third patch I have found in 26 years.

The second was on the fifth of November.

These are really beautiful mushrooms

The patch pictures I posted below in another thread was the first time in 26 years that I found this species.

Today's find is a small one. I was not looking for it but it is only maybe going to have a pound or so of fresh shrooms. It is not like the other one which will probably, if no one else finds it, produce about ten to fifteen fresh pounds.

From the look of the neighboring growth around it,. I doubt it will be their next year as the ivy and blackberry brambles will eventually overtake the nutrients in the wood chips and surrounding soils.

However, I do know how to find about 16 of the 22 species known to occur in Washington State.

Here are three more pictures of Sundays small find.
