Has anyone id'ed Bakana and came out 100% sure about its taxonomical name and effects?

It's supposodly a species of scirpus(scirpus atrovirens wiild) and is regarded as more potent than peyote among the Tarahumara of Mexico.Taken from the book of the gods,"The plant enables them to travel far and wide, see brilliantly coloured visions, and talk with dead ancestors".

I'm determined to find out what this plant really is.I've been trying to research it for years now and have no solid clue as to it's origin.I'm aware that theres a cactus nicknamed Bakana and that is in use aswell, but apparently this plant is seperate to it.

I read on the peyote website that the plant may contain the maoi harmaline and that may be it's method of action, but then why would it be more potent than peyote?I've also heard of it being a kind of sedative where the user will go into a trance and experience the alternative reality that way.

Is anyone else here remotly interested in this plant and researching more about it?Does anyone have any experience with it(doubtful)?
