Mushroom pills?

SWIM had some 'mushroom pills'  He said he took two of the pills, which were clear gelcaps filled with a brownish powder.  Apparently they were 'powdered mushroom caps' put into pill form.  

He said it took about 15-20 minutes to start kicking in and the trip was done around six or seven hours.  He said the buzz was definately more mental moreso than a 'body buzz'.  The effects definately sound like it could be psilocybin, but I figured I would ask the forums about it.  Can threshold dose of mushrooms fit into two gelcaps?  Could it have been an extract of psilocybin?

Yes, it is possible to fit a powdered dose of psilocybin into a couple of gelcaps. No need to extract, imo.

Yeh it's possible to fit over a gram of powder into each "00" gelcap.

I remember recently seeing pics of actual Sandoz Psilocybin pills from 30-40 years ago, looked like they'd crumble with a feather's touch, though. Kinda orangish if I recall correctly.

I was lucky enough to get some pharm psilocybin way back in the old days, it was orange pills if I remember right.

There has never been pharmaceutical psilocybine manufactured anywhere in the world in pill form.

Sandoz only produced tablets of 2 and 5 milligrams of psilocin and marketed the tablets under the name of Indocybin, in  honer of the Indians who used them and for the name of the genera. and no psilocybine pills were manufactured or available to the public.  the pills were white.  The pills were around in the late 1950s until the Controlled substance act went into effect in the late 1960s.

It took five to 8 pills for a trip to be equal to a Mazatec mushroom ceremony.

The recent psilocine used by Doblin at Mapps recently for his update on the Concord Mass. Reformatory for Men experiments conducted in the early 1960s by programs initiated by Leary and his colleagues, were jsut recently;y obtained from a European manufacturer whose identity is not publically available

And gel caps are not pills.  Pills are solid materials with buffers in them to hold them together

LOL! This remined me of a story...

SWIM, back in college, got an ounce of shrooms to split with some buddies. Everyone was clamoring for the big, nice looking caps, and no one wanted the powdery, crushed remains in the bottom of the bag. They didn't have a scale, so in divying out the goods, this guy wound up getting stuck with a lot of powder. A lot more than would fit in two gelcaps, if you catch my drift.

He had a pretty wild ride as I recall. :twisted:

LOL The wife and I got turned into an imobile piece of installation art by a couple of psilly-gellcaps one night during a rocking mid-winter fest.
