I have to write a paper for this biology class about a species of animal or plant found in an article in the newspaper.

Ive decided to do one on Hoodia gordonii, but part of the paper we have to research how that species reproduces itself:  seeds/ and or vegetatively.

I am sure that Hoodia gordonii disperses seeds, but do they disperse them to the wind like Milkweeds since its in the same family?

Naturally without human help can they propagate themselves asexually such as a branch falling off and then rooting itself in the soil nearby?

I don't know how I am going to find that out, does anyone know and if so where is a source I can use for my paper?

I just happen to be a hoodia grower. They grow by seeds and the seeds look like a tiny bit of leaf material. They are flat and around 1/8" or so long. They could easily blow in the wind. The plant is eaten to remove hunger. They are very hard to clone, I've never succeeded. When cut, the end usually starts to rot and the whole piece dies. I've got a few with several arms on them but I'm not cutting any off. Has anyone been able to root a hoodia cutting?

Stoney,

Did you try a sulfur dip to speed up callousing?  I had a similar problem with other cacti and I was told this would help by a few people.
