Caesalpina sepiaria

Anyone tried this or got any info on it ?  The name in chinese characters would be most useful.  I have been asking for "yun shih" in herbalists in Guangdong and have been shown a root but I need more research to work out if it is the same "plant of the gods".  

Also wondering if the root is effective and with what quantity / method.  

I asked the guy in a shop if their root would help me see other worlds and he looked a bit taken aback.  Maybe safer to ask if it enhances mental capabilities.  Language is, of course, an issue !!!
