sungazing is a first rank entheogen. I've been doing this by intuition for 25 years, but sporadically. For the last six months, I have been observing the sun whenever possible, just after sunrise and just before sunset.  It synergizes well with what you have, excites visioning, speaks to the soul, and is strongly electric.

and last night I saw Mt. Kailash, bathed in the golden glory of the sun's last rays, suspended in clear light above the summit of Mauna Loa where the disk had just melted.

Dendro, are you taking about looking directly at the Sun , 1hr before setting and up to 1 hr at rising ?

yeah strider, looking at the disk. But here in the tropics, one hour after sunrise and before sunset is too long for safe gazing. I have gazed for as long as 45 min before, but not in Hawaii. The air is very clear here, and the rays intense. 15 min is about my steady now, 10 if it's too intense. With vog haze, or partial cloudiness, longer times are possible.

At higher latitudes, with smog, 45 min is pretty safe, even an hour after and before is low enuff UV for short gazing, but you have to work up to it slowly by degrees.
