* Featured Album: The Beatles, *White Album* (1968) . . . The greatest rock & roll band the world will ever know had just gotten back from a retreat to India, where they'd gone to cohere themselves, get a better grounding between reality & illusion . . . had a sack full of songs written on acoustic guitars . . . went to work making an album that was so big, so grand, so messy, it would nearly destroy them . . . it was not their last album together, but maybe it was the last one where the ground still stood somewhat firm beneath their feet . . . it is an amazing achievement & a great fucking run of songs, rock & roll & otherwise . . .

* Readings from *Many Musics*, *Bags End News*, & *Labyrinthine* . . .  it was January 30, 1999 that I first showed up at Radio Free Cambridge with my sack of LPs to DJ a two-hour radio show I named after a line from my poetry . . . I could not have imagined the path from there & then to here & now, nor that there would be a path at all . . . & yet here is 20 years of this show & still high-stepping . . . gonna have an extra long one this time to celebrate, nod with love to it all, & then get going along furthur . . .
