So we had our show at Phil"s club. One of the most amazing experiences ever.

First off it is on a little court behind car dealerships, boat dealers and repair shops, right next to the 101 freeway. But inside it is a most beautiful restaurant with multiple rooms and and a small stage setup in the bar.

We told the hostess we were playing in the Grate Room and she walked us back to it, separate entrance behind the main building. Much smaller room than i expected, they could shoehorn 500 people in there maybe. We were met by the house sound guy. he told me that the PA subs were from Phil's old stage rig, then he took me to a store room and showed my Phil's Eden bar rig. He said that when Phil plays the Grate Room his rig has more power than the house sound system.

The system: Phils Meyer subs, six Meyer mid/highs packs flown 3 on each side. Many Meyer powered monitors that retail for $8,000 each. Automated monitor mixes and house board, great mics and all the bells and whistles you can dream about.

The sound? The stage sound was a light year better than anything any of us have ever experienced. Such a joy to play when you can hear everything so perfectly. No ear fatigue, no distortion. The great luxury of having Phil's soundman mixing our monitors(what other 500 capacity venue has a monitor mixer? Our guy mixed the house, and from all reports it sounded great.

Other than that it was a typical business(construction company) xmas party, complete with bad team building games and drunken disorderly employees and great food.

Two days later same band in a local club playin through a very nice semi pro Carvin PA. Thats the music life in a nutshell.

But now we know what it can be like, what it should be like.. We are back at Terrapin in January.
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

Great! You deserve the best. If there are any recordings (minus the drunks) would love to hear!

Our guitar player usually records the shows and I'm pretty sure he got a soundboard feed on this one.

Our momentum is starting to roll, got a call this morning for a show this Thursday at the palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco which is satellite of the amazing DeYoung Art Museum.

Nailed a retread to my feet
