Extra Terrestrial Live, a fine sampling of BOC performances, recorded about the time they appeared on early MTV in concert.

I wish I could find it on video.

BOC was one of the first rock bands I saw back when I was a kid. They supposedly had a great lazer light show for the time and it was rumored that a huge shipment of drugs was coming in to Sioux City with the band.......

The Godzilla drum solo was definitely the highlight for me. Heck, it was one of the best to this day. The drummer pounded his way through a massive solo and then in the end, fell/leaned way back on his stool to applause. But that wasn't the end. A second later, the drummer sat back up, this time with a big godzilla head complete with lit up red eyes visible through the now pulsating strobe light and REALLY started beating on that contraption...

Just checked...no video version of the Extra Terrestrial Live album...good news is that in 2010 they will be playing a gig about 30 minutes from me...on a weekend evening!

In the late 1980s I saw them play at a small night club in Austin that later burned down..."The Back Room".  The crowd was somewhat rowdy with broken beer bottles on the floor, but my date was hot with her braless and silky attire and her hand in my pants pocket.

I heard them from one stage I was playin on this past summer as they were on the big stage of some festival(Lodi Grape festival I think)
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling

LOL Yeah, mon. I didn't hear much at all for a day or so after that, my first real ear ringing rock and roll show.

I remember in the 80s the Police played Cal Expo, We could hear them CLEARLY at 34th and Stockton, at least 5 miles away as the crow flies.

The next day parents all over town were calling doctore and talk shows wonder ing if their kids would ever hear again.
