one day while burning the peanuts

google reader, you see
and the blogs i'd been following
without knowing
and there it was
allen ginsberg singing 4 gospel truths
and harold chapman talking about git-de-coeur hotel
and more corso than i'd known
and there i sat, focused on that
and suddenly
while all was bliss
i found i was burning the peanuts

no ordinary peanuts was I burning
but painstakingly shelled peanuts
products of labours of a saturday morning
of my beloved, yes he
who sat, all bliss
creating a stack of peanuts, shelled and ready
prepared for a slow roast on a low heat

so simply i burnt those peanuts
from barely beige to utterly popped
one day while starting unable to stop
i did it, while elsewhere absorbed

i know what ginsberg would say
lie down when you lie down
taste when you taste
smell what you smell

....
