While waiting for the eclipse
armed up to here
The shades began to dance
The echoes tingled in the trees
The meteors fell down
clumsy but true to form

And the small human watcher
balancing on the ferris wheel
sang into the sky
myths of Orion
and an Apollo fix

Thunder respectfully acknowledged
All keys removed
while waiting for the eclipse
barefoot, suspended
anchored in mid-air

Barely breathing
the planet started to giggle
(any time now)
A voice was heard from a radio
:sudden cloudcover:
:chance of rain:
:caution to those in ferris wheels:
:lightning threatens to strike:

Thrill seekers continued to wait
