What's the time-frame of reverse tolerance?

I have successfully had pretty intense (borderline breakthrough - more intesnse than anything experienced on off-topic psychedelics, but still aware of where/who/what I was the whole time).  They were a few weeks apart, and I definitely noticed an increased sensitivity to its effects each time, but it has been maybe two months since the last time I smoked a significant amount of it (waiting for my plants to get bigger before I harvest any more leaves).  Shoudl I expect to be more or less where I left off in terms of the reverse tolerance curve, or will a few months without smoking set you back?

Better to call it sensitization than reverse tolerance.

Good point.  "Reverse tolerance" is a pretty unsatisfactory term.

Once sally has done her thing on your circuitry, you have been sensitized for the long haul. At least that has been my experience.

My first attempts involved maybe 16-20 LARGE pulls of plain leaf from a bong with little effect. Breakthrough was eventually achieved. Recently, after maybe a year's abstinance, I took a couple of tiny sally hits to let a friend smell/experience a bit-o sally and almost ended up on the floor. While that pull only lasted a few seconds, it was enough to convince me that it still wouldn't take much to get that ticket to sally-landia punched.

fairly quickly, my 1st gram of 5x, i got nothing out of it, put it down to inexperience/poor technique etc, 2nd gram, 1st bowl and the dancing geometry was amazing! now days, i cant go back to the geometry, im either in the world or out of the world with the sally nomes, the dose just affects how brightly lit the world is and how much colour there is.. the sensitization does seem to hit a plateau tho, or else long term smokers wouldnt be able to take even the smallest hit without dissapearing..

anyone have any experience as to how sensitization through smoking affects sensitivity whilst quidding?

I'm not sure I entirely understand the question, but first off I'll qualify my answer with this: I haven't used salvia a ton of times. Probably around 6 or 7 times over the last 5 years or so. I use it when it feels right.

The first time I tried a quid, it was more or less useless. It's possible my leaves weren't very strong, since that particular plant was never particularly robust and healthy to begin with, but all it really did was make my mind kind of unfocused for a while. I couldn't really hold my attention on any one thing for more than 30 seconds or so. I think I'd had only one or two smokes of salvia prior to this (with also very limited results).

The second (and so far, most recent) quid was some years after the first, and I'd had a few more smokes in the interim. I can't say it was the best time for salvia, but it turned out good anyway. For some reason, the idea of breaking out the salvia often comes to me when I'm drinking, much more often than when I'm sober. This particular day, I had the idea early on to take a walk (which I don't do often). I started drinking in the afternoon, and in the early evening, I remembered that I wanted to take a walk, so I decided to pop a quid of salvia and head out. It turned out to be an interesting walk with interesting thoughts once the salvia took hold.

I've never used anything but plain leaf, and never "broken through", but the times I smoked salvia between the two quids, I did notice a sensitization (feeling it more strongly) with each use. The second quid was most definitely stronger than the first, so with my limited experience I'd say the sensitization comes regardless of whether it's smoked or quidded.

Hope that was a somewhat useful answer.
