My brother got a book from his girlfriend for Christmas...it's not one you will find at your local library or perhaps not even your local bookstore.  I decided since it was my brother I was going to read it once he was done.  I began reading and before I ended the roman numeral pages I was already exploding with anticipation for the rest.

I've been burning through it and in the last 3 days i've finished 400 pages of this 600 page masterpeice. I ussually don't read either this is the first book i've read since "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene a few years ago.

This is fiction and it is horror it's also not for the weak of mind as it has a tendency to drive people insane....the name of the book:

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

It's his first and only book which he threw 10 years of his life into the making of.  If you are looking for a good damn book look no further....not really spiritual though, and doesn't have anything to do with entheogens.  A great read and so far the best book i've ever read.

Be carefull this book is full of strange things. It has a decent history of driving people to madness just simply from reading it. Keep that in mind well you are reading it and you will be ok.

GP: Is Eris true?
M2: Everything is true.
GP: Even false things?
M2: Even false things are true.
GP: How can that be?
M2: I don't know man, I didn't do it.

oh i heard its  a great book. havent gotten around to look at it yet.
many books are told to have the power to drive people mad.
once upon a time, the word was magik, the word was sacred. the word was only used by shamans and high priest. it was a long time ago, or maybe it was just to scare idiots aways, or maybe just a tool.....

on the list of my mad books to go through, i have "Beelzebub's Tales to his Grandson" by Master Gurdieff by the bed side. great book.
http://www.gurdjieff.org/beelzebub.htm
the list of mad writers is wide, lets just name a couple for now:P :
James Joyce.
http://www.online-literature.com/james_joyce/
Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow.
http://www.themodernword.com/pynchon/index.html
of course, there is the must read of Principia Discordia, Wherein Is Explained Absolutely Everything Worth Knowing About Absolutely Anything:
http://www.ology.org/principia/
"To choose order over disorder, or disorder over order, is to accept a trip composed of both the creative and destructive. But to choose the creative over the destructive is an all creative trip composed of both order and disorder."

anyone can add to the Mad Writers list????lets make a SPF top10 list.

write a review of the house of leaves when youre done reading it
:D  i'd love to read it.

The Elegant Universe was a nice book, but in its own categorie, ie, popular science, not fictional litterature. nothing to compare with James Joyce words, such as:
“I've put in so many enigmas and puzzles that it will keep the professors busy for centuries arguing over what I meant, and that's the only way of insuring one's immortality.”

 James Joyce.

scoobie dooooooooo.
<source unknown> does anyone have a computer in here?
