Possible avenue for dermal absorption?

In my tireless hunting for interesting links, I came across this:

While the main premise of the article isn't anything really for The Cave, the last bit really stood out to me:

Ceapro has also discovered that beta glucan can be used as a transdermal delivery system to feed drugs and other compounds into the skin. This development may lead to new and better ways of delivering such medicines as antihistamines and pain relievers.

Would it also be possible to mix say, mind altering substances with beta glucan for such an effect?  Would one have to separate out this soulable fiber, or could one feasibly mix their mind altering drug of choice with oatmeal and apply as a psychoactive poultice?  Would some mixtures be ineffective due to differences in molecular structure?

Anyone here willing to experiment with some Sally on the skin or some huasca derma?

Hmmm interesting ...shall read the article in a sec lol but first thoughts would be that the witches salve was an ointment rubbed into the skin...this was mainly tropane alkaloids, I wonder if all alkaoids can be absorbed like this ?

A huichol shaman in mexico had a peyote salve.  It seemed to have slight effects.  The ingrediants were secret - although I could have bought some.
