For those that have not heard, some recordings from November of 1957 at Carnegie Hall have been discovered at the US Library of Congress.  It was a benefit concert, will all sorts of shiny jazz names performing.  One of the performances, Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane, has been released on CD.  I've only heard snippets on NPR, but plan to buy the disc this weekend.  Anyone heard it yet?

Heard a bit on the radio also. Does music get better than this? If it does goddess kept it for herself.
a group of us, on peyote, had little to share with a group on marijuana

the marijuana smokers were discussing questions of the utmost profundity and we were sticking our fingers in our navels & giggling
