* Featured Classic Rock Album: Tyrannosaurus Rex, *Unicorn* (1969) . . . Third great album from this band formed early in Marc Bolan's career, forgotten by most . . . worth finding, songs that are sort of creepy fantasy play-things, delightful to know in the half-shadows, but somehow not quite there in the common light . . .

* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 4 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .

* Featured Classic Rock Album: Tyrannosaurus Rex, *A Beard of Stars* (1970) . . . Last of quarter of albums the band recorded under this name . . . more electric than the previous ones, but still the same psych-freak-folk feel as the others . . . front man Marc Bolan had other ideas on where he was going, but this is perhaps his fond goodbye to a wonderful persona he'd worn well awhile . . .

* Featured Classic Rock Album Redux: The Shins, *Chutes Too Narrow* (2003) . . . First played on this show on its 3/11/2006 broadcast, this album is a kind of pop-rock perfection . . . bright, brooding, full of deep candy-sounding yearning . . . this New Mexico band has never come close to matching this album, but I think this possibility always exists . . .
