This Topic is VERY Old. All those plants have ceased to be ....

But there is Still a Salvia Plant in my garden, As well as a whole herd of San Pedro, and one each of the Dagga Plants.

My "Wild Dagga" is just blooming for the first time! And my "Klip Dagga" will soon also have her first flowers.

QuoteLugaru is free for the holidays!

By Jeff on December 24th, 2008

Happy Holidays from Wolfire!

Thanks to the thousands of people who have joined the Overgrowth Facebook Page, we are giving away Lugaru for free for the next few days. David Rosen (the creator) has been selling this game here for $19.95 since it was launched, without exception. For the first time ever, for the holidays only, we are not just discounting it, we are giving it away for free.

All you have to do is go here,    http://www.wolfire.com/free-lugaru    and we will send you a free copy.

Here are a few words about Lugaru. It is a Mac, Windows, and Linux compatible game created by David Rosen (our fearless leader) while he was in high school over the course of a couple of summers. It is a pretty kick ass independent, physics-based fighting game and over the years, many fans have created mods for the game including entirely new campaigns that are much longer and arguably better. Also, the graphics have been updated in the form of a high resolution texture mod. You can find all of this on the Wolfire Forums after you’re done playing the original.

Grab it here:    http://www.wolfire.com/free-lugaru    ! Keep in mind that this is a very limited time offer, as much as I’d like to spread David’s game forever.

As always, thanks for the support! We hope you enjoy your free copy of Lugaru!

"We are giving you a free copy of Lugaru (normally $19.95), the game that started it all! Just enter your name, email address, and what kind of computer you use, and we will generate a serial number for you and send it!"

And after you go snag this limited time freebie check out the hundreds of other free games and applications waiting (no time limit) for you at Software Santa    http://softwaresanta.com

Merry Christmas!

Well I DID have a web site full of presents!
http://softwaresanta.com

The hosting Grinches at midphase.com knocked my Software Santa web site OFF the Internet 5 days ago.

Do NOT EVER buy a hosting plan from midphase.com - you'll be sorry! 3 or 4 days downtime for their customers doesn't bother them one little bit!

They ruined my web site just in time for Christmas! I'm sure they don't care either.

That's UNCOOL! Tell everyone you know midphase.com is unreliable and save THEM the agony of being GRINCHED!

I did not buy a hosting plan from them. (Thank Goddess!)

A friend of mine did and has graciously been providing free hosting for me for almost 2 years - Thank You my dear friend (you know who you are)!

But ALL of his Business sites were down for 3 days before those jerks restored his services. Unconscionable! All the rest of his web sites are finally working again. Only my web site is still ruined.

Somehow they managed to mess my Christmas site up - and I can't fix it ...
"500 Internal Server error." is all I have to give away for Christmas right now!

WARN Everyone thinking about buying a hosting plan to STAY AWAY from the incompetent idiots at midphase.com !!!!! I'm hoping my friend can get my site working again for me. Otherwise 2 years of my work has been destroyed by midphase.com JUST in Time for Christmas!

God Damn Grinches! They Ruined my Christmas! Now I have NOTHING to share with ANYONE! The 1,000 business cards I had printed are now a waste of $75 thanks to midphase.com !

I'm VERY Disappointed. Save Everyone you know from purchasing a hosting plan with midphase.com - you'll save them a LOT of Grief. Learn from my hard lesson!

interesting.

But Salvia D pollen is invisible ... That is to say you need a microscope to see individual pollen grains.

Quote from: "Stonehenge"Wow, those are some big plants, Sea Mac. What zone are you in? Nice job in any case.
Zone 11. It never gets down in the low 30's in Coastal San Diego.

The Salvia Plane / Salvia Garden Photographs

Over a year later: I'm drowning in a forest of Salvia divinorum TREES! I've got Dozens of Plants everywhere!

A Small Portion of one of my 2 gardens in Late January 2008:

Here I am on Christmas Morning 2007:

And the same plant 5 weeks later on Groundhog's Day:

I thought I'd climb "Sally" (that plant's name) here up to the Giant's castle for some golden eggs just like Jack did ...

What to look for:

Salvia Divinorum seeds almost ripe:

Namaste, Friends ...

The Cybershack / Apple Rocks!
August 28, 2007, 03:19:16 PM
Quote from: "Bushpig"The joys of linux :)

(though i'm guessing your namesake points towards ann apple based system)?

Booosh

You are very Astute: I was in the Navy also.

I've been trying out Ubuntu on the other half of my Dual Boot "PowerMac7,3" and while it is Cool I don't recommend it for the typical computer user.

I've reinstalled The whole Ubuntu OS 9 times in the last month. It's not ready for prime time yet.  I have 30 years in Programming/Computer Experience and have always bought Macintosh Computers ...

(I Started out Programming CDC 1702 mainframes with Fortran IV on Punched cards. No such thing as a GUI in those bad old days .... )

I've helped a Dozen people move from Windows to Macintosh: they have ALL been Grateful! And Apple tech support (ME) is a Phone call away - for them.

I would recommend an Apple Laptop to my Mother or Grandmother. That'd be a LOT Less technical support I'd wind up having to provide ....

And even though Macintosh come with all you could wish for, software wise, built in: you can still get thousands and thousands of free programs at dozens of Sites!

 http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/lt/freeware  Mac (7,858 Programs)  - See?

http://www.versiontracker.com/windows/freeware  Windows (7,026 Programs) (until you switch to Mac shop here for new Windows software first.)

note that the Mac Platform has more programs than Windows does now - it used to be the other way around a couple of years ago ...

Hey it's really "LINUX=Geek Hours" I'm learnin it the hard way!

The Cybershack / Learning curve of GIMP
August 21, 2007, 12:05:47 PM
Yeah, I agree:

Learning to Use the GIMP is every bit as challenging as learning to use Photoshop CS2.

As a matter of fact: Windows Computers = GEEK HOURS (Unless you don't update your virus definitions every day and scan for spyware ... )

(I NEVER Scan for Viruses: my System doesn't have any ... )

I loved that 3rd picture of the wasp you caught in the act! That's absolutely stunningly clear: I would ask you about the photography and its details but it would be off topic.

(I used a Canon on a tripod for the above 2 hummingbird photo.)

The Rain Forest / I Caught them TOO!
July 20, 2007, 08:27:41 PM
I Caught pollinators helping me out on my Salvia divinorum plants.

It was an Anna's hummingbird that thought my Salvia divinorum tree was his personal cafeteria!  (I named him)

You can see more of this at these two links:

http://sagewisdom.org/hummingbird.html

http://members.cox.net/thegarden/index.html

These pollinators are Very Fast hit-and-run artists so I was 'kind of lucky' to get these photographs. You blink and the beast has flown ...

Carl McCall (C. Mc.)

PS  and I got seeds with his help, too!

And for more of my special hummingbird "Photos" check out
