The Site / A Warning...

I have been gravely ill. I am not kidding. That is why I haven't been around.

You guys need to check with "Big Nate" over at Edot  to help you guys  "port" this shithole code you're using to the same upgraded code he's using before the frackers come back and do REAL damage.

I have a distinct feeling that this fist go-round was just a "demonstration".

Peace,

The Long House / You'd be surprised...
January 18, 2005, 12:40:00 PM
When I finally reopened the Q & A - which took a LOT of soul - searching, let me tell you! - I had destryed all the forum files, so, the first problem I was faced with was how to rebuild without having to re-invent the wheel, so to speak.

The answer came to me in a flash: All of the good search engines, or almost all of them, keep caches of the internet. Why? Damn if I know, but they do.

So, in locating all the html pages I could - and you be DAMN surprised at what I was able to locate - all I had to do was (using the cached html pages as templates) recreate those pages using perl code.

BTW: Here is the original forum - reconstructed using cached html pages as templates and then reverse engineering the perl code to produce the pages:

Obviously, the better you can code perl, the easier this is, but I believe it is the answer you guys are looking for.

One last thing here: If you guys don't want my help, or if you just don't want me around, then, hey, just tell me to bug off and I'll leave you alone.

Peace,

Trevyn

and

I am very sorry to see your current situation. I will, of course, do whatever I can, and Nate (over at Edot) will help in any way he can also.

With kindest regards,

Trevyn
