unfortunately, i live in an apartment building, so planting outside is impossible.  also, i know miraclegro works okay, it's what i used to use, but i'd prefer to use natural fertilizers rather than chemical ones.

what i've since found out is that brugs like nitrogen most, then phosphorus, then potassium.  so i bought some fish emulsion oil (5-1-1), and will fertilize with it every 2 weeks.

Hello,

Brugs are heavy feeders. MiracleGro works fine. It's all I use. Brug's roots don't like to be confined all that much. If you can, I would suggest that you plant your brugs out in the summer and feed weekly. It may not look all that effective during the warm months (all the feedings), but as the season grows to a close you will be rewarded with showers of blooms.

Quote from: "caulfield"When I first heard it and got to the part where he goes "I love you Jesus Chriiiiiiissssst" and it hangs forever I was like WTF??

haha i had the same reaction.  just saying that at all was an immediate turn-off for me, but then when he says it again and then it builds and builds and builds and finally crashes into a wave of noisy guitar and drums....so nice.
Quote from: "caulfield"I played it for my friend Dana who is in a rock band and she said that it was really interesting in the same manner that a surrealist painting is intersting and that it makes you think about music.

amanda palmer of the dresden dolls has called it the sgt. peppers of the 90s.

Quote from: "lollipop guild"The 65-year-old Brown said she is blessed to be alive.

woman gets struck by lightning while praying for safety from lightning.  she survives and so believes she is "blessed."  gotta love the warped logic of so many believers.  it's like when an earthquake or tsunami hits somewhere and they save one baby from a building and someone says it's a miracle...neglecting to think about the thousands of other people, non-miracles, that just died, so that the one "miracle" could be found.

amazing album.  when i first heard it, i didn't understand why so many people consider it a masterpiece.  it just took a while to understand.  listening to it a lot on a trip through the south is when it began to hit me.

i highly recommend listening to the songs "in an aeroplane over the sea" and "two-headed boy part I."  over and over and over...

The Rain Forest / fertilizer for brugs?
June 14, 2006, 08:48:37 AM
can anyone recommend some good fertilizer for brugmansias?  i don't want to keep giving them miracle-gro, i'd much prefer something natural, but i'm not sure what they like or what would be good for them.  anyone know?

also, i may have to re-pot them soon.  does anyone have a good potting mix they use, either home-made or store-bought?

many thanks.
