mao-b is not involved in the metabolism of noradrenalin visionaryb3ar, only dopamine, for some reason it is a distinctly different enzyme involved, and while most maoi's target both types, mao-b inhibitors only target the ones which break down dopamine, hence the use of deprenyl to help slow the onset of parkinsons's disease.
I should point out at this point that there is a growing body of evidence that excessive manganese content has been connected to some degree with dopamine dysregulation disorders, in fact a very recent study which has only just been completed (I know the son of the scientist who has been doing this study) has found that excessive dopamine pre and neo-natal (most especially the latter) can cause an up to FIFTY PERCENT (i capitalise to express my amazement and quite frankly non-surprise) reduction in dopamine neurons in the brain - and of course this is permanent... I could go on more about the subject but I will wait to be prompted, i have references and theories about this which shed a lot of light on the current plague of attentional disorders, ad/hd and asperger's syndrome.
