The Trade Winds / Re: Looking for bulk VIABLE seeds.
February 13, 2007, 06:15:31 PM
Hi, I have large amounts of Argyreia Nervosa (hg:s). These are fresh, and rich in alkaloids, but I havent tried their viability yet. I also have quite large amounts of Desmanthus illinoensis (a year old I think, should be viable).
If your interested please let me know what you have for trade.

Best Regards,
flower

I think the plant is a piper at least since it looks like one. The leafs doesn't smell anything when i rub them, how does kava smell? My piper betle on the other hand smells like hotdogs, are that right?
Here are a few better pictures of the plant, any id help would be nice.

Quote from: "BotanyGuru"nope thats not kava at all.

i spent a few months in fiji drinking kava with the natives, and had the experience of growing and tending to the plants, and that looks nothing like it.

please view my thread here.
it has quite a few pics of the plant itself, and the process of brewing.

Ok, thanks BotanyGuru for the link!

If someone have real kava cuttings to trade or sell please send me a PM :)

Quote from: "ThirstyBulldog"Gawrsh! I completely forgot about my other question:

What are the light requirements (direct light, indirect light, etc.) for these two plants?

Heimia loves full sun. Calamus can probably appreciate sun to, but i keep mine in full shade, and they have been growing there for two years. Its a very hard plant to kill :)

The Rain Forest / Is this kava?

I got this cutting from a botanical garden where it was said to be piper methysticum. The thing is that the leafs doesn't look at all as the ones I've seen on pictures, could it just be a different strain than the usual, or is it something else?

Thanks :)
