Thanks for the info. I checked out the Erowid links, and it seems that any hallucinogenic effects were only reported from long term use - I seem to remember reading something on another forum about someone's psychedelic experience from a massive kratom tea. Anyone have any idea about this kind of dosing?

"I'd like to briefly share what I have experienced over the past six weeks...First, some background is in order:

I am a thirty-seven year old male, avg. height and build, smoker,  with no major health problems. I have been (poly) opioid-addicted for more than a decade, a good part of which was spent in and out of a methadone clinic. Four years ago,  I heard,  through a close friend (who makes a study of shamanic/spirit plants) about this compound called 'ibogaine'...he told me that it's virtues were unique, and singular,  especially when it comes to the ability of this medicine to heal addicts...I was intrigued but had serious doubts.  He on the other hand, being more experienced with psycoactive botanicals and their properties, was wholly convinced that ibogaine "did what they say it does"...which was alleviate/ameliorate acute opiate withdrawals and provide the user with a good head start on getting their lives back on track.

I went with him for his treatment. It worked, and he worked it....I was amazed.

This was four years ago.  Since that time I have gone from 100mgs (at least)  methadone a day, to Suboxone...then to an array of potent,  shorter acting opiates like Oxycontin and eventually IV heroin.  Things kept spiraling...you know the story.

In the last two years or so, I have found myself exploring ayahuasca and San Pedro cactus for their healing potential...this was a noble endeavor,  but caused me many difficult 'trips' as I was so disenchanted and hooked on dope,  I couln't get much more out of those things than some deep insights on what a fucked -up guy I perceived myself to be. It was brutally honest, but I felt I had nowhere to go with it unless I could kick this dreadful dopiate habit. As it turns out,  I was right.

Through my experiments with ethnobotanicals,  I really began to see true potential for personal development using these tools. I needed to do something. I didn't have the money to go to one of the clinics for ibogaine,  and frankly, at this time in my life,  was more interested in using a more "traditional" medicine.  Meaning that I was specifically interested in using all the alkaloids to seek a 'relationship' with what I perceive as the spirit of the plant...

Something wonderful happened.  My friend whom I accompanied four years ago,  obtained fifty grams of quality Tabernanthe Iboga root-bark.  After much online research (and some independant experience pulling alkaloids from plants) we settled on a 'Tek' which we believed would 'pull' all the active alkaloids from the bark, in a concentrated extract...and it sure did.

I have studied dosing specs and administrative protocols that ibogaine clinics use. I have some medical training. I researched every bit of data I could get my hands on...

The amount of  (this) Total-Alkaloid-Extract  we would use  was 15 mg/kg. Less than the typical 20 mg/kg of isolated ibogaine hydrochloride used professionally. T. Iboga contains many alkaloids which are similar to ibogaine , i.e. nor-ibogaine (which is what ibogaine metabolizes into in the liver) ibogaline, ibogamine, to name a few...Some of these are more potent than isolated ibogaine.

Good rootbark is between 4-6%  Total-Alkaliod content. For our purposes we used a mean of  5 %  for ease of  calculating dosage, etc. of forty-five grams of plant material,  yielded 12.5 g of extract.  Total alkaloid extract ( of T.Iboga) is approx. 1/2 ibogaine, 1/2 mixed alkaloids or ibogaine analogues.

I took 8g of the extract over about eighteen hours.  We began with an initial small 'test-dose' to gauge sensitivity. Within 30-45 minutes, my withrawal symptoms were gone...just poof!...gone. I was administered gradually increasing doses over hours...the whole experience lasted every bit of 36 hours or more...

As of this writing I am in my SIXTH WEEK of freedom thanks to this amzing medicine. I have also recently seen it used on another loved on with astonishing results. It is my belief that Total-Alkaloid Extract  can absolutely be used for addiction interruption with at least the safety and efficacy of ibogaine hcl.  The additional alkaloids synergistically work with the main constituent to produce a 'gentler' (and we believe safer ) 'ride'.

This is an anecdotal report,  I cannot (yet) empirically substantiate these claims,  but I intend to devote my every waking moment to researching this miraculous plant and hopefully one day, use what I have learned to help others . Thanks for reading. I welcome any comments..."

here follows a very simple acid extraction for Tabernanthe Iboga;  which has recently proven it's enormous efficacy in opiod addiction interruption: ( these materials and procedures are obtained and utilized in canada, where also the healings occurred)

~ACHTWAN'S IBOGA EXTRACTION 2.0~


~MATERIAL~ 50 grams Tabernanthe Iboga root-bark (not whole root)
                 
                    White vinegar (acetic acid)

                    plastic funnel (2)

                    Qt. mason jars (2)
 
                    coffee filters

                    cloth filter (T-shirt)

                    coffee bean grinder

                    gelcaps

                    scales-digital (.100)

                    glass baking dish
                 

~PROCEDURE~

(1) grind 50g root-bark in bean grinder (powder as best u can)

(2) cover with vinegar

(3) simmer on low heat {3 or 4 on stovetop)   60-90 min. do not boil

(4) filter thru cloth ~collect solution~

(5) filter solution thru coffee filter

(6) re-cover plant material with vinegar

(7) repeat steps X 4

( preheat oven to 200F

(9) pour combined, filtered liquid into glass dish

(10) evap in oven w/ door open {takes several hours}

(11) scrape....weigh...put in gelcaps...

ibeginagain.org in Mexico is an excellent clinic and the best price I have noted. It is not  advisable to wing it with Ibogaine. At mindvox.com you can sign up on the Ibogaine list to find people who are very knowledgable about this wonderful entheogen.

im new at this forum and have alot of current information to share concerning recent healing with iboga (total alkaloid extract). id love to share- but will await moderator approval  :?: . i have 'clinical' notes from two sessions (both performed in canada) and an extraction 'tek'....
