The red sometimes occurs from too much nutrients.  Try and lay off the ferts and see if that does not help.  This plant is very hardy, so this is not too much of a concern and it will tolerate over fertillizing.

I have to agree with Mykayl to a point guys.  I have had Sally as an ally for nine years, and I do not condone smoking her, yet I will not hate ya for it if you do.  What concerns me is the fact of all the newbies that have heard vaguely of her and are willing to go at her smoking 10x or higher!  I must say that it is a shame that this or any plant is regulated, but I am torn between idiot lawmakers and idiots abusing her.  Sally will always as all allys, be abused by some and very few will use her as she is meant, but who am I to say that any plant should be illegal.  If some fool dies from using her, good, one less idiot in the world.  Sounds cruel, but isn't that nature's way of weeding out the bad?  I think that the threats should be made known, but the plant should not be illegal, only restricted to those of 21 and older.  The plant does have a medicinal side to her also, and in fact helps with depression and I can attest to this first hand.  Some refer to the anti-depression effect as the afterglow, but that is only words.  All I know is I do not give a damn when she is made illegal, as I will continue keeping her as an ally. Just my two cents.

Smoking it.....Perhaps Yes depends on strength of leaves and the person.
QUidding or Tea.....NO you don't need one in my opinion.

Glad to see that I am not the only one Mykayl, I am glad that you also interact with Sally this way.  I was beginning to think that I was the only one here that preferred her this way instead of smoking.  On shape shifting, one can do this even without the assistance of plants, just it is easier and a lot less work.  To me, I love the plants, but do not neccessarily need them to go off into that world nor does anyone for that matter. Eventually you will understand what I mean and no I am not referring to Freebies.

Uh, I think Jus407 wants leaf matter and not the plants.

Jus407, Sinuichi is the plant matter, the plant itself is Hemia salicfolia.  If it does not have yellow flowers, I am sure that it is most likely not Hemia salicfolia.

There is micro and macro algae.  Macro is good algae and micro is bad.  "green water" is from waterborne microalgae and that means that you either have too much sun without enough leaf cover in the water, or too much nutrients.  If you are serious about these and algae is a problem, get either algal killer that is safe for plants, or if it is a constant problem, then I suggest you invest in a UV sterilizer for the water.

If your missus thinks you are cheating because you are always smoking with either a gal named Sally or another named Mary Jane.

Well, I would directly tell ya, but I am kinda hesitant only because that is more of a trade secret that most propagators had to learn the hard way(Including Us).  I will tell ya that if you know how to root any hardwood shrub, then you can do this one.  Air layering or layering will also work, albiet more time consuming and not as fast.  I do not know about the chewing of the tip of the plant, but hey, if it works for some, I say try it out.  I would personally just plant the seed and wait a year for them to reach maturity.  This is much easier in the sense of the amount of plants you get are tremendous, and you can then plant them all into larger pots as they get big.  Just my two cents.
