The World / Re: Thoughts on President-elect Barack Obama
November 08, 2008, 06:06:48 AM
it is up to every man to live up to the life they believe in.
change first comes in the self, then the outside changes.

we'll see what happens. i like this attitude JRL.
in Nepal, after 13 years of civil war against the maoists, when they finally got rid of their king, and voted for new party, thats what poeple say: "we will see". so many promesses on every side, lets see in reality.

lets see, and in the meantime, remember to do the changes you believe in today:)

all love.

sorry about that senor:( and glad you're fine now.

about my case. i got my liver echographie, which shows no anomaly whatsoever.
i got my blood test result. there are some anti virus, so something is happening. the level of of alat, agat, and anti virus is very low, so basically, for now its no worries (level of alat galat could be not related). for all i know, i've had this for years, with no symptoms.
so, i have no worries, i'll keep on living my good life the way i do, which is basically a quite healthy life style.

the symptoms would be jaunisse (getting yellow), white poop or brown urine. i think that before it gets to that, i'd do something about it anyhows ahahahah.

i will see in india/nepal with the docs i know. also i will see what my boss in goa says, since shes a specialist in homeopathic meds.
i will also take a cure of milk thistle:)

thankx for help:)

JRL, what i meant is that i never think that one man in governement can do that much. its an entire adminitration that is behind one man. its a whole bunch of people making decisions. i whish for Obama to surround himself with the best advisers possible.

By hope, i mean, that people too easily think that one man will save the game. we can keep hope, yet we have to remain realistic with the huge amounts of problems ahead. have hope with feet well grounded in reality seems important.

It is the job of every citizen to live the changes they believe in, nothing can happen without the will of the many.

So, i hope that this new face in politics can bring positive changes, and that it can inspire the people to live up to their own desires of what they think is best.

There is a lot of work to do, baby steps, baby steps:)

I am now the aunt of a little boy named Bilal. I was there with my sis during delivery, her husband still waiting for a visa from Soudan.
It was my first delivery. I thought i'd pass out or throw up, but i remained totally comb.
The strangest thing to me was the absolute normality of the thing; the miracle seemed to be in how unusual things are.
The kid and sis have been back home for a couple weeks, everyone is doing fine.

My little nephew was my reason for coming to france for a month, so i could help my sis. I will now go back for more India and Nepal. Weeehhhh.

I send a lot of love to all the old spiritplanters i have known. I hope all is good on your side of wherever you are.
Keep on being spirited and keep on planting.

Peace and happiness to all:)

It was a nice hollywoodian twist to see Obama put on the stage as the 44th president of the usa.
It's nice to see the people being happy and celebrating. The usa needed that bit of joy. All around the world, the opressed and minorities can dream that indeed they do have a chance  . Symbols can be a great help at desperate times. Look at Hitler, people loved the hope he gave to the nation.

As nice as this symbol is, i doubt anything will change. The president of the usa actually doesnt have that much power. Even if Obama seems to be an actual cool guy, i doubt he can do anything for real. Politics are for the masses, a nice TV puppet. The real power is in MONEY. We're going more polluted by the day, more lazy and brainwashed by the day.

But a nice symbol on tv looks good, its good to give people the dream that things will change, that things will get better. The symbol looks good, it is strong indeed, and thats already a nice change in itself. Change is always nice.

Keep the whell turning.

i just wanted to thank you all for info you have shared. as it is new for me, i get info where i can.
i have done my little research on the web, and since i have no symptoms and have no clue when i got it, for now i'll keep on living my life as usual. according to some research, in 20% cases, the virus self heals, i pray for that;)
in a couple days i get the results from second blood tests, which will tell me my genotype.
From what i read about interferon, it seems to suck, and result isnt even 100% sure at all. SenorSalvia, sorry about your friend, and happy to hear about your well being. About your friend, when your friend was diagnosed, i would suppose that was he already quite sick? Am i wrong?
as usual its nice to be informed, which in a couple days i will be more informed concerning my case.
and by next week i'll be chilling under coconut trees:):):)

thanks a lot for your time:)

thanks for looking up more info Stoney:)

From the data i've been reading, it seems that its very rare to get hep c via common household stuff (like toothbursh, razor etc), you'd need quite a bit of blood in contact with virus. but its better to take basic precautions about sharing private items anyhows. research i have read even mentions that if staying with same partner, no need to change sexual habits, just stay of the booty around period times.
Same about mother infant transmission. it's very rare cases, and many have had successfull pregnancies with no problems with hep C. Of course its good to have a regular doc follow up in such cases.

It seems that most folks with hep C die long before of something not related; the extreme cases being for junkies and heavy alcohol users, whose immune system isnt all the best to begin with.

a little Milk thistles ?

Actually, Stonehenge, if you would have taken the time to look at a basic info on hep such as on wiki, you'd find that hep C is harder to get than A or B.
hep C is moslty transmitted by blood, so you need direct blood contact, such as with needles, blood transplant, tatoos, piercing etc.
A is tramsitted via dirty water and fecal matters. B via blood and body fluids containing blood.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hepatitis

Anyhows its a reminder that its always good to be careful about blood and dirty waters (especially in countries with no good water and basic cleanliness. poorer countries having big hep counts). A and B have vaccins, but not C.

For me, I am still waiting for next blood results, and no matter what its a good reminder to have a healthy life style, eat good, limit alcohol etc, and maybe take some blood and liver cleaners to clean the liver.

Take care of your bodies, it will love you in return:)

thanks a lot you guys. any info is appreciated, as i am just starting on my research.

i am still waiting for blood test number 2, in which they do the genetype, viral charge, PCR ect etc. For all i know i got nothing to worry about;)
Being only transfered by blood, I have no clue when i caught this virus, not having intravenous drugs since 99. Maybe it's from a tattoo i got in Nepal. Can snorting stuff cause to catch this virus? I do induldge in snorting ketamine in goa quite  a bit;)
I havent had any symptoms whatsoever, my health having no problems. My ALAT and ASAT level are just about 100 above normal level, so not much at all. Some without hep get higher levels.

I just was doing a random blood test to make sure everything is ok cause next year i am thinking of making a baby with my nepale love.

The things i have read about interferon sounds horrible, and it doesnt seem like a thing i'd want to put myself through, unless of course i am dying and all.
Also it does seem that results depend on too maaany factors to be sure of results. And yeah i am a skeptic concerning all those modern medecine, that might heal one thing, but kill another thing at the same time.

I read that many poeple show no symptoms whatsoever and live a normal life? Is this true?

Of course i would follow a interferon treatment, if really i haaaaave too, but first i'll test other things, since my body still has no symptoms. I dont really drink alcohol (excpet some wine and treats when i visit my family in france for one month, but even the wine i stopped since the blood test), my diet is mainly rice and lentils for the last 2 years in Asia, only thing is quite a bit of thc smoking.

I went to an herb store and they recommended desmodium to heal the liver. Desmodium seems like a really worth while plant for liver issues and asma. I'll try milk thistle as well.

Since I am going back to India next week, unless the doctor tells me that i neeeeedddd interferon, i will take my plane and test out ayuverdic meds, and maybe my tibetan doc.

thanks again for any info. its fascinating reading on the net the various debates between traditional western medecine being pro interferon, and people trying alternative cures because interferon was too much for them, and eventually had bad results. Also of course, interferon did have very positive effects on others.

Any recommendations are greatly appreaciated:)

The Medicine Lodge / Hepethatis and weed
October 31, 2008, 04:05:23 AM
Do any of you have any information about the effects of weed/hash on hepethatis C?

Hepethathis C is a virus that hurts the liver, so of course alcohol is no good. But i was wandering if weed had any known effects on the virus?

Also, i am researching plant medecine for healing the liver from this virus.
According to wiki:
"As an example, extract of Silybum marianum and Sho-saiko-to are sold; the first is said to provide some generic help to hepatic functions, and the second claims to aid in liver health and provide some antiviral effects."

If anyone has any extra info or personal experience to share, it'd be greatly apreciated:)

The Mountain / Re: The value of atheists
October 26, 2008, 04:16:30 AM
First, I agree with good old JRL. Athiests can be as closed minded as any fundamentals, ie, they know whats going on and everyone else is a moron.

second: reddragon concerning your text.
You write about "us psychedelic users" as if all users can be put in the same bag. I think this generalization points to something vague and idealized.
If you speak about those using entheogens in order to work on their psyche, those that use entheogens for spiritual purposes, then do mention so.
There are plenty of psychedelic users who just want a good time, get fucked up and see pretty colors, and basically use psychedelics for mere fun. Fun which of course is aaallllll right.
I've met too many kids who use psychedelics and have "become one with the universe blahblah" and still have absolutely no spiritual insight. To put those who just want to have fun and those who do serious work on themselves together in the same bag would be a mistake.

Of course as you say, the psychedelic experience and the mystical one can have many points in common. And of course such experiences remain souly personal and extremely hard to share with those that have not had such experiences. Yet, perhaps it is more about the way we share our experiences rather than our experiences in themselves. If I "become one with the universe" but can not convey this truth to another in simple words, what good is it to get such inisghts? Ie, the experience in itself is not much compared to what we gain from it, and what we apply from the exeprience in our daily life.
It is good to adapt our language to who we are speaking. Ie, if i speak with a convinced atheist I will not use the same vocabulary than if i speak with a dharma follower for exemple.

good work reddragon, keep on sharing:)

The Medicine Lodge / Re: Healing
October 24, 2008, 07:00:10 AM
Anything you do with your mind being focused on healing (yours or for any sentient beings) will have positive effects. Of course, use your brain, and don't be a dumb ass. Drinking a bottle of whiskey and driving a tank thinking of healing might not have all positive effects;)

You mentionned having the entheogenes part. Entheogenes on their own are not a magic potion. Many use entheogenes and remain dumb asses with a selfish mind. Do remember that entheogenes are a TOOL, and only that. The value of the tool depends on the user. A monkey with a hammer is still a monkey;)

So, sing, dance, meditate, paint, pray, light a candle, walk, read sacred texts of the world, help a fellow human, wash your room, do nothing, etc. If your mind truly is focused on postiveness, ie, healing, it will bring postitiveness into your life. Fancy techniques have the same effects than a simple technique when used with a honest mind. It is always better to have a good mind and do simple things, than to use a fancy method with no good mind.

In the end, it is in you, and your true will to be positive, for yourself and all sentient beings. Doing work for others, helping fellow humans is one of the best forms of healing you can do.

Peace and happiness for your search:)

Namaste felow planters,

I hope everyone is doing well. On my side, I am back in France for a month. I am now the aunt of a little boy.
In a couple weeks I go back for more Asian adventures in India and Nepal.
By now, I have quite a few travel hints and links for those who might plan a trip around this side of the world.

(pic of Nepale mountains. look closer, you are not dreaming;)!
If any of you are into volonteering, please do contact me. I have many Nepale friends, and you could be set up working in an orphenage in kathmandu, or doing teaching work in the mountains. Rent and food would be basically free for you. So don't hesitate to contact me by mail: mailto:bluezorg@yahoo.com">bluezorg@yahoo.com. (during travel i only look at mail and spend minimum time on the computer).

For you interested in volonteering, or any of your friends, please do not go through any of the big volunteer organizations. They are a total scam. They ask a lot of money, to pick you up and pet you around. It is free to meet the good locals and find out free volunteer projects, they are pleeenty. If really you have extra money to share, go to the villages and give it to the people!

(shaman ritual during a a Purnima celebration at Baba Shivapuri temple.)

Peace and happiness to all:)
