Title: pgp newbie ?
Post by: dendro on September 21, 2005, 09:39:24 PM
Can someone please help me? I just DL'd PGP Desktop 9, and I am having trouble. For example, I have a public key from a friend, and I don't know where to paste it to open his mails. PGP tells me it cannot be pasted and inputted from the clipboard. So how do I put it into the program so I can decrypt the message?

When I search "decrypt/verify", it only discusses zips., not regular messages. Help!

I messed with that program for a year or so with no luck meself. Glider nudged me to give it a go. Never was able to exchange encrypted messages from those with the proper key, either.

Keep me posted, eh? I wouldn't mind another go at it on my new machine.

You need to import your friends public key into your list of keys.  I dont have PGP installed on this computer, so I cannot explicitly outline the steps of how to do this.  There is a utility called key manager, or something along those lines, with which you can import keys.

After you have imported their key you can decrypt their messages.
