I have a couple small cuttings I'm trying to root. They may be rooted now, it's been over 6 months. There was some resistance when I wiggled one of them but it may be spines below the soil line. I have another couple growing out in the yard but they aren't big enough to take cuttings yet. This one seems prone to a black rot disease. I have one that came down twice and I cut away the rot each time and it came back.

I got a few cuts of those Monstrosa penis vars from jrl a while back.  And a few from jethro back in the day too come to think of it.  Is prolly one of my favorite trichs to grow.  Once they get established, they just go nuts.

Nope, I've got two varieties....... possibly three.  Jethro used to sell what he called penis varieties A & B.  I don't recall if I traded both from him or not, but I deffinetly have a couple distince varieties.  Varrying in length, width and spine length.  I had a pic of em in the image gallery a while back, but I don't seem to see them anymore.  I'll see if I saved the pic.

Oh shoot, sorry for the teaser Roach........ I was just trying to get across that jrl has some fine specimens....... since he offered.

It'll be another year or two before I'm ready to take cutting off of the ones I've got.

mail order catalog with bluish green catalog???

is that what your thinking of??

i gave away that cacti because it was stunted and freaked out.....
actually..... it was included in a trade to a friend on the forums here......he said its growing now..... and looking good...

i received that cacti and it started getting those white scabs looking cork on it..... well... i tried to slice it off... and use alcohol..... it was recommended...

bad idea.... i mutaleted that thing.... it was one big scabbed up penis cacti.... about a foot tall..... but completely covered white....

well...... it never grew for almost three years .... so i sent it to a friend in the north....
