* Featured New Rock Album: Michael Chapman, *50* (2017) . . . Chapman is a British folk musician who commemorates his fifty years as a performing artist with this Americana sounding album, produced by the great Steve Gunn, & recorded & mixed at the venerable Black Dirt Studio . . . it's a beautiful album, great playing, gritty at times, rocking at others . . . I found this LP because of my love for so many Black Dirt Studio-associated artists like Gunn (Nathan Bowles plays on this one too), & lucked into discovering an artist who could not have made this deeply grooved an album if he hadn't fifty years of music-making behind him . . . hope many more too . . .
* Featured Classic Rock Album: Tim Buckley, *Blue Afternoon* (1969) . . . Singer-songwriter Buckley's fourth LP is a kind of beguiling folk-jazz synthesis . . . moody, as its title hints, & often breathlessly beautiful . . . each song a continuance of the last one, but a shift as well . . . a young master at his good work . . .
* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 13 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .
* Readings from *Many Musics*, *Bags End News* & *Labyrinthine* . . . & this week's featured artist is Lord Huron, & cuts from their great early EPs *Into the Sun* (2010), *Mighty* (2010), & *Time to Run* (2012). . . will be now starting this show at 8 pm New England time, diving in a little earlier in the evening, see what new & old magicks come on . . .
