Title: Datura metel x Datura wrightii seed

Datura metel x Datura wrightii seed hybridized by yours truly. Also available Datura wrightii seeds wild collected from Mojave desert. Datura metel mom is purple with a yellow inner skirt. Will trade for Trichocereus pachanoi pollen or seed.

I thought I would a pod that has aborted to show that this particular cross is not the easiest to make. As  you can see, when this one aborts it aborts at the peduncle. Most pods abort before they get this large and the peduncle merely separates from the plant dropping the seed pod. As this one developed a bit more, the peduncle turned brown and withered rather than separating.

Just a few pictures to show variability of lavender on Datura wrightii as well as showing how lavender tint can be seen on young seed pods, edges of flower, and even the stem.
