It was Cohen's brilliant final album, 2016's *You Want It Darker*, that found me my way into his weird & wonderful music . . . this, his penultimate LP, is just as good . . . his lyrics are vividly twisted, his music deeply evocative . . . it's a fine, deep, murky well . . .
* Featured Classic Rock Album: Joe Henry, *Short Man's Room* (1992) . . . Originally from North Carolina, although he moved to Brooklyn to pursue music, it was this, his fourth record, that caught my attention because members of The Jayhawks play with him . . . the music is proto-Americana, with acoustic & bluegrass flourishes . . . lots of classic Jayhawksy harmonies sugar it nicely up as well . .
* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 11 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .
* Readings from *Bags End News* & *Labyrinthine* . . . & this week featured artists are one last batch of those featured on "American Top 40 with Casey Kasem" back on April 6, 1985 . . . long grey raining weekend, one good for walking & work & loving the green everywhere . . .
