quote above... A good first step in examining this problem would be to recruit habitual users and former users to screen for neurological changes.
I'm guessing you could be the poster-child for this study, eh, byroon? :D

My experiance with dissassociatives are extremly small. The only drug with disassocative properties that I have used are Salvia,
But it seems like a good idée to combine it with something neuroprotective with DXM, PCP and similar drugs. Maybe anti-oxidatives off different type: Vitamine C & E, green té. And also from the text it seems that Cannabis could be a good combination. The neuroprotective propertie of cannabis seems to match the thesis of the neuro destructive mechanism of DXM quite well I think? But on the other hand I have no information what so ever how should a combination might affect the DXM journey.
I wouldnt be to afraid of DXM if used once in a while. A lot of drugs can damage the brain but usually it takes regular use and the brain seems to be able to restore it self although it sometimes do take quite a long time. Meth-amphetamine are a good example of a very destructive drug.
Weekly use however seems stupid.

By the way, Salvia is not a dissociative. It has been shown conclusively, finally, and beyond debate to be
inactive at the N-methyl-D-aspartate sites. Salvia and DXM are really apples and oranges, despite persistent rumors to the contrary.

Thats true. Although it seems to me that the experiance of a large dose Salvia can be disassociative to its nature. I for example have had the experiance with Salvia there I have disassocitate from my body and instead atleast beliaving that I was part of my furneture.
And our knowledge about how different substances works are limited. Remember that we havent by far identified all receptors that we have in the brain and how they affect each others.

I'm guessing you'll get the most info on this facet of sally by talking to the extractor proponents. Those of us who stick to plain leaf prolly have little to no chance of smoking the copious amounts necessary to reach the anesthetic before landing somewhere in salvia space. hehe
lw
True the disassociative experiance was smoked leaf.
Although I like the plain leaf fresh. The experiance becomes more spiritual.
green: are you calling the dissasociative state produced by smoking plain sally leaves to be anesthetic or did I miss something?

Nah. Nothing like laughing gas. Not disassociative in that sense that I still have a body but I can not feel it. Disasscoiative in that sense that I had the experiance of leaving the body, becoming two separate things. The body are nothing but anything else in the room.

I find this extremly irritating since it to a high degree affects our posts in this thread. Probably I want replay to a post made by this person again.
Green, you could always quote the person you're replying to thereby keeping a copy in case they erase it.
I think salvia is a dissasociative, at least in larger doses. In fact, it's about as disassociative as you can get. You are no longer connected to your body or to your life. You will also have no memory of those things. This was on 5x, it would be hard but not impossible to do it with ordinary leaf. I have some leaf that is so strong I use it now instead of the 5x. It seems about a 3x normally. I haven't used large amounts of salvia in a couple years I guess. A little puff of the leaf now and then keeps my head on straight.
Maybe I'm just lost due to the term "dissassociative." I've left my body after smoking plain sally leaf and been turned inside out before getting skinned alive by the giant pink ferris wheel, but still maintained a sense of self.

I find Salvia div. much more dissasociative than I do hallucinogenic. It synergizes extremely well (very powerfully) with classic dissasociatives and tryptamines with a distinct dissasociative character.
Sally synergizes very well with the hallucinagenic, too, imo.
lw
Yeah it does. Sally and smokeable tryptamines is a doubleteam of the ego like nothing else.
Yeah it is very different.
First time I used it I used fresh leaves. Didnt really see much but heard and experiance more in other ways. First time I encountered an entitet (spelling), acctually had sex with it. Didnt see her rather she was everywhere.
