hi eva, jrl

this year, last year, folks are leaving the planet. good, great folks.
we've been lucky to have them as long as we've had.

go to concerts, listen to new albums, keep them fresh as long as they're here.

Joe Cocker burst on the scene, as i recall, at the first woodstock festival. Its a shame but we are all going to go the same way sooner or later. At least he got to enjoy his career unlike hendricks or joplin.

70 is a fairly long life, janis and jimi only made it to about 37. That one you liked, the drinker, she died fairly young too.

Seventy years is but a blink of the cosmic eye.... BOL

Here is a treat for y'all: The first vid is from Woodstock. The second, from a decade ago with Queen and Phil Collins. To me Cocker carries the first and the band the second. But I loves me some acid drenched Joe Cocker.

Actually Janis and Jimi died at 27 as did that clown Morrison, Pig Pen, Al Wilson from Canned Heat and my girl Amy Winehouse.

As we are finding out people can make good music into their 70s and beyond, Phil is 74 and he plays a lot. BB King is 90 I believe and Eubie Blake toured until he died at 101.

70 sounds a lot better than 27.
