I have a question that might be appropiate here. My directory states I have two processors. However,I recently was scanned by another site, and was listed as having two 'logical' processors, and one 'physical'. It`s a long but legit reason why I don know, but short of looking, could someone tell me what I am seeing in print. That is,the definitions of 'logical',and physical.
Thankyou
Hmmmm....guess I`ll pull the fan someday. jus one fan,but it is huge.
I don` know if it`s covering two chipsets or not. The preponderance of info(hardware directory) Dual processor drivers etc. leads me to believe what I should be skeptical of, normally. But there may be a reason why...
do you have a pentium processor with HyperThreading turned on?
Yes, I do.
If hyperthrading is turned on two processors show in Device Manager, though there is only one physical processor. This would coincide with the language you noticed from the scan of your computer that showed two "logical" processors.
Try turning Hyperthreading off (done via the PC's BIOS), and see what your results are in Device Manager and from that scan.
Very good! I`m limited in ability in some ways(till I try usually),but I willmake the attempt to do this. Tell me ,would this account for a multi proccessor motherboard, and two proccessor drivers?
Bottom line.i`m inclined already to think you are correct. Why really should I believe otherwise, that would have somebody giving me something for their screwups, that is jus` not my experience in life. i`m finally lucky to have a decent gaming computer working...
