rip ray. you have offered such gifts to us all.

i'm just listening to Susun Weed, the herbalist, speak of taking care of ourselves even if we have the gene for breast cancer (angelina jolie's situation). red clover infusion - not capsules, not tincture, fresh blossoms steeped in a quart of water, taken daily.

for every cancer death, we look for ways to find our own path towards health. music lovers will miss ray. may we live long

Manzarek was a true band leader and writer, the personal traits of a humble one too.

I remember when I met him, I was 16, it was backstage a show he did with a Frisco beatnick poet, they toured some cities in North America
that year.

Spoken word 'a la' Lizard King with Ray's splendid finger work creating a heavenly realm of serenity and groove, utopic atmosphere for anyone's words.

Calm, soft spoken, bright and funny.

Will always remain in hearts and his music will live forever.

Thanks for posting!

He was the Real Talent of that band. In my opinion Morrison was a second rate poet and a third rate singer(always sang flat). Ray wrote Light My Fire their greatest song.

Having said that, I did see the Doors play early on at the height of their powers Good stuff, very gripping.
