Just found out George will be bringing Parliament to a venue just a few blocks from our house in early November. We're really looking forward to this one.

A couple of the only shows I've actually been enjoying and left before the band was done were GC's. They came to Iowa a bunch of times in the early/mid 90's and must have had permission to play as long as they liked at at least a few of those gigs. I'm pretty sure he was touring with Parliament/Funkadelic during that period. The shows were like relay races. George would take the lead for a spell, then Garry Shider would take over perched on a stack of speakers and wearing a diaper. Pretty sure Bootsy even descended from the Mothership. Heck, one of George's grand daughters got in on the act. First funky and then hard edged and back to the funk once again. He flat out told the crowd that they would continue playing until we all went home. I laughed. But on two of those occasions they were still going strong when we dragged our tired asses out of the venues and hit the road. And the band played on.
