*New Rock Album: Mumford & Sons, *Sigh No More* (2010) . . . Another great band I somehow missed, with the beautiful subtleties of the Avett Brothers & the grand theatricality of U2 mixed in with their own lovely freakiness . . . this album is the special kind that maybe sounds odd in the ears at first but when one settles in, it just keeps getting better & better . . .
*Classic Rock Album: Paul Simon, *Graceland* (1986) . . . I am not sure how this latter-day masterpiece of Simon's had not yet been played on this show, but taking care of this matter right now . . . Simon mixes African sounds, Zydeco, Tex-Mex into an esoteric broth that is still his & his alone, his brilliant mind & poetic heart in all its dark humor and deep feeling . . . Just wonderful . . .
*Storybook Time: Epilogue to *The Brotherhood of Eternal Love, From Flower Power to Hippie Mafia: The Story of the LSD Counterculture* by Stewart Tendler & David May. . .
*Readings from *Labyrinthine* fixtion & *Many Musics* poems . . . & this week's featured artists are another dose of those featured in the great new Bob Dylan tribute album, *Chimes of Freedom* . . . feels like spring in New England again after a nasty preview of summer, the coolness swirls, the blooms & birds continue their slow sweet arrival . . .

*New Rock Album: The Shins, *Port of Morrow* (2012) . . . It's been five years since the last Shins album, and longer since their masterpiece, *Chutes Too Narrow* (2003) . . . James Mercer fired all his bandmates and, for this album, took on a new crew, though it's hard to say how long they will stick . . . that all said, this album is good, really good, renders the years and drama took to make it irrelevant for the listeners . . . for whatever Mercer had to go through, or put himself through, and others, the end result is a beautiful work of Art . . .
*Classic Rock Album: Bob Dylan, *Desire* (1976) . . . Dylan collaborated with many musicians and writer Jacques Levy to create this dazzling record, bursting with epic tales, funny songs, pretty ones, his clear eye and biting humor all here in abundance . . . a rich work, rewarding for many listens . . . Dylan wide awake and dangerous is a wonderful thing . . .
