I wish I'd discovered this California progressive acoustic trio years ago . . . their music is magic, pure & simple . . . flying wild guitar, bouzouki, ukelele, mandolin and fiddle, crazy passionate lyrics, there are so many stellar moments of perfection throughout this record . . .
*Classic Rock Album: Jackson Browne, *Running on Empty* (1977) . . . Somewhat forgotten these days, or relegated to the oldies bin, Jackson Browne's art & empathy shine a plain & lovely light through the grooves of this record . . . It is a live album of new songs, recorded on stage, in hotel rooms, back stage, and on the band's tour bus . . . fine & lasting work . . .
*Storybook Time: Chapter Twenty-Three of *The Brotherhood of Eternal Love, From Flower Power to Hippie Mafia: The Story of the LSD Counterculture* by Stewart Tendler & David May. . .

After seven years tied up in legal wranglings, this brilliant English band returned with a deep sack of great new songs, so deep that two volumes were required . . . a friend of mine once said that XTC was the band that people longing for the "next" Beatles were looking for . . . their songs rock, run over with melodies, cleverness, pathos, weirdness . . . since their decision to break up, some of us have spent some time waiting for the "next" XTC as well . . .
