Have these been positively identified? It is my understanding (and my experience) that virtually all -- if not all -- seeds marketed as A. peregrina are in fact A. colubrina. "Yopo" usually refers to the former, not the latter. In other words, what people claim to be yopo would be more accurately called vilca or cebil.

I'm not sure about the bark, but it is my understanding that the difference can be told from the seeds. If one examines the seed coat carefully, vilca/cebil will have a V-shaped indentation on one side.  The seed coat of yopo doesn't have this indentation.
