A few months ago, my best friends mum(who is a botanist and a shaman in her own right) gave him and myself a seed to identify. It looked like a giant yopo seed. about 5 inches across, round, flattish and waxy smooth, brown. No one knew what it was. My friend made an educated guess that it grew in or near water because of the thickness of the water resistant coating it had. But that was about all we knew. We did some research, but nothing came up.
last night I was bored and looking at random psychoactive plants on wikipedia, when I found this://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entada_rheedii
Entada Rheedii or Snuff Box Sea Bean. I am about 90% percent sure this is it. We are going to try to grow it. :D
Anyone have first hand experienced with this?
(sorry for being long winded I am just happy to have found out what it is and thought I should tell the whole story)
Irie Alice,
I've managed to germ them before but lost them to damp-off.
You have to sand through the shell layer to expose the white inside. I used a dermmel!
Soak seed 24hrs and plant in sandy dirt!
Remember not too much water!
Good luck.

Muchas gracias, Zaka.
Hi,
African Dream seeds... I find them easy to germinate, even with very old seeds I was told were not viable... file all arround avoiding the eye without touching the white cotyledon, put them in moist cotton/ bag with warmth and they'll come arround impressively.
All the Best,
