It seems that some months ago this lovely (if not somewhat troubled) forum, completely vanished from the net. My questions is, what happened?
The threads I'm seeing around here that might relate all seem to talk about whether or not this forum should be kept up and running, but to me this is the first time in a long while that the site has actually been up.
So what's the story people? Point me in the direction of the required reading threads if the explanation is too long.
Also, if forum reforms are in order, I have a few ideas based on the structure of another forum I recently joined.
Anyway, glad to see thjat SPF is back.

Hey there: Welcome home brutha ... The quick story on the demise of the old site is that it appears Eddy just up and vanished off the face of the earth.. If you remember; he had mentioned that he was at a point where he was virtually homeless, so it's my guess the site got yanked due to non payment for server space... Andy of Yage graciously offered up the space here for 'da peeps'... Too bad about the old archives seemingly lost eh?? There was a treasuretrove of good things there. If things currently stand as they have been, then Cenacle/Cassie/Nitroburn are basically responsible for keeping this new place 'buzzing' along, as far as tech stuff, mod stuff etc..... senorsal

I heard it was taken down by someone who broke into the server (hack) and did away with all of the files, but this makes more sense because eddy would have certainly kept a backup.
Orb: where did you hear that? It is entirely possible that eddy didn't backup effectively and he did have a few disgruntled customers ... am ever curious as to just what did happen ...
i too am curious cass, would be nice to atleast get a list of emails for past members to notify them of the new url so they could have been welcomed back...hopefully there will be closure on the subject one day or another..
