Title: citrus juice
Post by: dendro on April 06, 2005, 07:40:49 PM
hi all, my citrus orchard is pumping right now, has been for a couple months. Lemons, Tahiti limes, calamondins, pomplemousses, oranges, tangelos. Along with copious passion fruits and ginger, I'm swimming in juice.

And nothing is more refreshing and thirst quenching after a hot hard day's activities than ice cold "pot juice". No not cannabis (altho a little cannabis always goes good with pot juice), but just sugared juice left in a pot for a few days to mellow. You can drink it sour, or add more sugar for soda pop, the fine point carbonation is magical, yum!

Byrooon, I don't mean to torture anyone  :)  But harvest season isn't that far away now, where you live.

I just get excited about simple things heh.  A skill that improves as the strength of the flesh fades. Just think, anyone can make pot juice, with any grade fruit---castoffs from a fruit stand, supermarket rubbish, fruit farm or packing house culls. Even canned concentrate can be much improved by leaving it in a pot with sugar and water. So many flavors...

O' course, add some yeast and put in a sealed carboy for a while, and walla--beer.  8)

dendro, MMMMMMM send me some! ;)

Down here (south florida) us scavangers have had a great season already foraging...  We made up 10 gallons of coconut wine mostly from fallen coconuts.  The folks who have the tallent had to climb some of the tree's to get em' down because it takes A BUNCH of coconuts to make 10 gallons of wine lol

We also dumpstered a bunch of oranges and lemons as well as getting a basket full from my mothers tree's and we make something very similiar to your pot juice

MMMMMM Fresh juice... more Mmmmmm fresh wine juice... :-D

Can you give me a basic treatment for the coconut wine pleez? Are you using the water only, or the nutmeat too? Us get planny coconut, alla time stay go fall onna groun'! I make cream from the meat, goes great with breadfruit, taro, sweet potatos, fish, desserts. :) Great ground up for hempnut granola too.

Guayvee (waiwi) fruits (small guavas types, tangy and sweet, yellows or reds) are falling now, more than anyone can use, grows wild all over Puna.  Makes great syrup, jelly, juice. The big commercial guavas make tons of juice too, I grow em, also the smaller common guavas. Smash em, strain em, brew em, maybe add some acid fruit juice, some ono juice brah!
