Title: Cashew
Post by: Zaka on July 10, 2009, 07:02:04 AM
Irie,
So this Cashew, Anacardium occidentale.

I sanded off a section of the shell, soaked it for 24hrs. It cracked & swelled & I stuffed it in a pot.
That was a little over three weeks ago.
Today it's on it's fourth pair of true leaves. And growin' crazy!
Sent a few out in trades, so I'll make this a log for it.
Respect
Z

I love cashew fruit! I wish I lived somewhere that I could grow a tree to fruiting size.

just be carefull not to eat or touch the shell in anyway(it's sorta like poison ivy) and eating it can kill you

looks awesome though, very curious plant.

Are you sure that's a cashew? all the ones I have seen have none pointed leaves. they sorta bowin on the ends.
also the picture  reminds of some other plant........ :cool2
