Eddy for sure, he went totally missing. Space came back for a minute and dissapeared again. Roach bobs to the surface from time to time. Diss was around a bit a few months back.

Thanks for missing me sister Judih - I think of you at random times. Our fuzz-buzz actually logged into chat (prolly from some cafe on a mountain in India somewhere) but I didn't get to talk to her. Roach logs into chat still. Dissy pops in here to say 'I'm alive" (last seen last year?). Ringworm works on a merchant vessel and is at home for only 4months each year.
I *do* miss Glider coz he was always funny (and sensible) and Eddy for all the nice lil chats (wish he'd put us out of our misery and fess up wtf happened). ooh, and Raver, yes!
I miss having Sol in chat too and there are some other peeps I wonder what happened to. I will make a list.

so I guess I'm the chief engineer of the Tugboat (sorry, name was showing up in google). This means I'm in charge of the mechanical dept of the boat.
I sold the farm, and only grow veggies and tobacco.
Sometimes freedom is in the desolate wilderness, sometimes in an engineroom with diesels bigger than schoolbuses, sometimes its sitting on the bow of a boat for 4days straight looking at the horizon, or appreciating the fresh salty air in 15ft seas.
Whatever gives you hope.

hum drum? nah, I've always been an adrenaline junky. Jumping on an off barges in high seas is truly an exercise in the Tao of movement... Don't think, just move fast, think fast, make things happen. Lotta fun, and they pay me alot too....
Kemp, mrs chanley is just fine, raising kids, gardens, and whatnot like always. Bout like all of us, little less poison, little more humility, little further down the path.

She's looking for a job right now-- she got laid off a few weeks ago--- and we're both planning a trip to Peru and Bolivia for September. Can't wait for that, but there's so much to plan and get done before then! But, hey, long weekend starting Friday! :)
Mostly lurk on SPF and very occasionally chat, don't post much these days. Glad to be able to stick my head in every now-and-then and see familiar folks, tho.

That's very odd. The last time I heard from Ringworm, he was due to get out of juvie soon. Something about he was turning 18, and they couldn't keep him locked up anymore.

Last I heard from him, we were talking about me and some other folks moderating the news threads on the old spiritplants website, then he just let the website expire and never came around again. Truth be told, we did not get along. At some point I became the explicit target of his paranoia, and he accused me of being all manner of enemies and adversaries (most notably his arch-nemesis, Keith at IAS). But I didn't dislike him, despite the fact that I found any kind of normal interaction with him impossible. You say he got his stuff together at the end? that is good.
[But not to be a cynic, given his personality I could see him faking it, much like the old owner of edot did....]

I haven't been growing many plants these days, but I too have a few plants of the Luna strain growing (got the parent from Wyrm). Luna is an outstanding strain! Much hardier than Wasson-Hofmann.

When I talked on the phone, he seemed "normaL" some folks who met him in person said he was "ok".....whatever that means nowadays....cept, I guess he is on our side, rather than the "other' side........ anyways, here the link to his works, he seemed dedicated to trying to find if salvia was a good anti-depressent....

Yea, I wonder what ever happened to him (maybe a little off-topic, but I'm pretty sure Div was a member at the old SPF site). After he dropped off the "normal entheogen sites" I know he was still around and doing some stuff. At one point he took down his website (a normal-ish site), and posted an amazing screed in it's place, warning the human species--which somehow he didn't seem to feel a part of--how the Gaian intelligence now considers us parasites and we are on official warning. His site is still up, but it basically just says "go away, there is nothing here," or words to that effect.
[I remember the day he flipped. It was back in the USENET days, when people still actually posted interesting things on it. He took some combination--Salvia + something else (I think it was San Pedro or DXM) and was, IMO, exposed to more than he could handle, and as far as I know he never really recovered. As with Sphere, the effects of his transformation were well-documented at Entheology.]

That's good. Paranoia always seemed to be his thing, but I can see how depression could bring that on.
I used to be an active member at Entheology (until Anna booted me for being "too heady, too intellectual" -- go figure), so I haven't really kept up with many of those folks, except for the ones who are active on the ayahuasca forums, of which there are several (Napoleon B. (who had a different nic there, begins with a "G", but can't remember it), Sach, and Druid, for example). They were a good group of people, although I think they started to take the "we're special beings with the divine mission to save the world" thang a little too seriously. There's nothing wrong with saving the world, but when you set yourself apart to do it and start casting people out, dividing the world into "inside" and "outside" --becoming God's Crown--then issues can arise.
Funny thing is, there doesn't seem to be nearly the level of melodrama and craziness on the entheogen sites as there used to be. Maybe the community is maturing and learning how to integrate the experience better. Maybe I'm just older and don't hang out on melodramatic sites anymore ;)
To me, Sphere seemed like a good guy, but one who's "issues" were getting the better of him.
I know the thing that got him into the entheogens in the first place was a mystical/out-of-body experience he had in the late 90's, and all his work was an attempt to get back there. I hope he found what he was looking for, I hope in the end he was able to get back home. God's speed to him....

Really nice to see this thread, funny how I found it - was checking the board out just this morning for the first time in ages (wandering up the mountain & thru the library;-) then tonight after getting home went to check my website stats and saw that someone had got there from here (first time as far as I've noticed), so here I am!
Fond memories of back in the day, this was my first forum don'tcha know. Think I felt slightly embarrassed after going a bit nuts in fool view (tho doubt anyone really noticed, or maybe just thought I was high or joking - but I was really pretty nuts for a while) of course all that is erased now, and of course now I wish it wasn't! Some good material there. :) I stopped doing all psychedelics for a year or so after that (round about 2003/4) but turns out I wouldn't want to be without 'em really (like old friends ;) ), so it turned out to be just part of my path, a necessary bumpy patch. Still psilly, little less silly, little less clever too!
I'll try and pop in a bit more, this place has a much easier and in a way slightly more grounded vibe than that other forum (all they talk about is dragibus dragibus dragibluerghs anyhoo;-) and it's nice to see some of the same old names still around... never really been one for the chat I'm afraid, never really get that idle. :D

Dendro still kicks much ass, probably the most recent contact I'd had with an SPF'er that wasn't a regular elsewhere in years, and that was still probably a couple years back.
