Any advice on germination?

Zaka, did you already remove the seeds from the pods and plant them with the wing attached?
There should be at least 4 seeds per pod.
I remember last time I germinated Catha edulis i let the soil dry out between waterings. In other words dont keep it constantly moist, but dont let it get bone dry either. I mean you cant let it get completely dry.
Im not sure if that is the trick but someone on these forums once suggested that.
Someone else recently told me to just forget about them and then they will germinate.
I guess you can but you dont want the whole pot to dry.
It is weird cause I did that with some of my pepper seeds, and then after I watered i started noticing germination.
Tepin peppers took the longest of the 3 peppers I am now growing.
Bhut Jolokia germinated first, then Thai Dragon, and finally Tepin.
I only got 3 Bhut Jolokia to germinate but some of the seeds got moldy when I let the fruit ferment/dry up before taking the seeds out.
It makes sense since Tepin is a wild plant. It isnt like the other domesticated peppers same with fruiting them, Tepins arnt a 70 days then u get fruit.
Tepins I heard can take 8 months to fruit.
Sorry about the peppers I knew this was originally about Catha edulis.
pleasee !! I vvould love to have some seeds of khat !!! please if possible send me some !!!
Hey is there anychance you still have some more khat seeds?
I know a commercial vendor who sells these. Is it kosher to post their name here? There seems to be a lot of interest.

i'm dow for some seeds
Just curious: does anyone know how long the seeds remain viable? I just threw some out last night that were 6+ years old (pretty sure those were no longer viable).
Irie,
Thanks to Dog I put down I guess 100 or so, and today I see one finally sprout....
Damn tricky to germ....

normally those seeds don't stay alive more than 6 months... one on more than 100 seeds ? the seeds should have been old !!
afoaf has C. edulis "narrow leaf" samaras, most still in the pods
pm for details
