About ten years ago now i decided to purchase a couple of bags of dried mushrooms, one bag of about 30 dried Cubenisis Mexicana, and another bag containing about a dozen bright blue coffin nail shaped shrooms from Thailand.
It was the first time that i had taken shrooms, and i didn't really have a clue about dosage etc.. I am a big guy six feet six tall and about 18 stones in weight, the friend that got the shrooms for me told me to take it easy with the dose, when he gave me the bags,i could feel the energy in them just holding them! My friend joked about how i would end up seeing Jesus if i took too many at once,i laughed at that time..
So i took my bags of shrooms to my bedroom, put some trippy Goa trance mix tapes on the stereo, and got ready to be thrown into a psychic soup for a few hours! How many should i take i asked myself, whilst reaching into the depths of the cellophane bag. In tha past years i had taken both LSD and MDMA hundreds of times, sure i had my share of freak-outs whilst tripping, and also moments of eternal bliss on the acid..I was however totally un-prepared for the Mushroom experience!
I put a small handfull of the leathery flesh into my mouth and chewed for a few minutes.Seem to have gotten a taste for them instantly..Then i remember having a toke on a fat joint i had rolled..Then i chewed some more shrooms,i by this time was feeling a little looser than normal,I looked to the wall for some kind of visual phenomina, and had to check twice when i saw on the wall, infront of me the head of a dried Mexican mushroom,it must have been two feet across and totally three dimensional, there was a bright pink light looming from within the center of the head, emmiting the light in pulses,in time with my heartbeat! Oops i thought to myself,i was'nt expecting that to happen..
A few moments later i decided to eat some more! By this stage i had consumed about 30 of the mexican mushrooms and was starting to enter what i felt was a platau of normality,a space in which if felt like the fragrence of a rose, beauty in my heart, the music was awesome too, taking me further and further into my self,i felt as if i were on the Orient express train, traveling to far eastern realms...then i thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if i ate some of the Thai shrooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big mistake! I put one of the Blue coffin-nails into my mouth, and found that without chewing my body seemed to vacume the shroom down my neck..then i found myself taking another and another, taking about 5 or 6 in total...The peace in my heart soon turned to panic,i heared a distant non verbal voice, all it said was GREED! This started me to fear the worst, and surprise surprise, the next thing i knew i was foaming at the mouth,i was panniking, thinking that i was going to die there and then, the cream coloured quilt i was sitting on,on my bed,had become the Sahara desert.I was the perspective of the sun over the sand dunes..Greed greed greed the voice kept taunting,,,,,,,,
I layed down, maybe i should go to sleep! I tried for a lifetime or two,no chance! Instead with eyes closed i had a vision of a dark purple-grey underground tunnel network..and it was occupied by strange beings, they seemed to be fiberous in structure, like mushroom stalks. One of them spoke to me..Hello it said, come with us,you will like it here..i got the impression that they were Inorganic Beings, that i had read about in a Castenada book! I am in the realm of the Inorganic beings i told the Shroom people..i felt as though i were being pulled from my body and taken deeper into the tunnels..Resist a voice told me! Resist!!!
At this stage i opened my eyes, and found that my bedroom had turned into a forest! Complete with Currunos, the god of the forest sitting beneath a great Oak tree..I was still foaming at the mouth,i began to pray for my life..i opologised to the spirit of a temple in Thailand, from which the shrooms told me is where they were stolen from.I prayed for forgiveness to the spirit of the forest, then i was visited by a Manderin guy,who i later found out was a spirit guide of mine called Jewell Ackhule. He took my hand and pulled me back into my body.I know now that it was he who rescued me..had he not done so,i would still be in the realm of the Inorganic beings, out of my physical body, which had i flipped out completely, would most likely be sat in a chair rocking too and forth in a mental asylum somewhere, still trapped in the realm within!
The fear of never coming down...... Been there.
However, imo, your spirit guide is a personal projection. Claiming a bed in the nut-hut if not for senor jewell-of-the-orient a bit hysterical, if I may say so.
Welcome back.

I've never been there, but I've been at the opposite place with certain entheogens: I knew that I would come down at some point in "time," but so eternal was the moment that this didn't matter.
I haven't been there in a while and of course I miss that eternal, blissful state. But to try to re-capture it would be.... greedy.
P cubensis never took me to that bleak space, but a couple other varieties found on the west coast have.
And then there was the dead show 20 years ago where some guy said he was going to turn me onto 1/2 a blotter hit of sandoze pharmaceutical that had me blazing for over three days...
Salvia is an example of a substance that one must work at staying in that peak space or it goes away. Its sort of a mindless meditation for me that works best. Because as soon as a rational thought crosses the space between the ears I tend to lose all buoyancy and retreat back into me mortal coil...

HI, very strange those species you are mentioning as having.
Quote30 dried Cubenisis Mexicana, and another bag containing about a dozen bright blue coffin nail shaped shrooms from Thailand.
First you say you have a bag of about thirty dried cubensis. Then you say you are eating them and then you go on to say that you then:

Now that sounds like yuu ate a lot more than the 30 ddried mushrooms of cubes which you said you had.
First, there is no species called Cubensis Mexicana. That would probably be just normal Palenque, species of Psilocybe cubensis which the name Cubensis Mexicana seems to me a name use in Amsterdam to sell mushrooms to tourists who have no idea what species they are buying and usually from sales clerks who also are not very intelligent about the shrooms they sell to tourists. Or about mushrooms in general.
As someone who has lived in Thailand for years and traveled there at least 2 times a year for more than 20-years. And having written 5 scholarly papers published in prestigious academic journals, I have never heard of any mushrooms being called
Quotebright blue coffin nail shaped shrooms from Thailand.
Your trip report sounds as if you are saying they came from Thailand.
In Thailand, the mushrooms are called Hed kee kwai which translates as "mushroom which appears after buffalo shits. )Thai Buffalos are either pink or gray. They are of the genus Bubalis Bubalus) The epithet "Hed Kee Kwai" Usually refers to Psilocybe cubensis. The same shrooms also occur in the manure of Wua (Cows, Bos Indicus, Bos sundicus, Bos Guarus). But thais usually do not know the species and refer to them as antaray (Dangerous).
However, Copelandia species, at least three to four varieties occur in manure of buffalo and cattle in Thailand. And they grow in manure but are usually not served in omelettes or smoothies or shakes as Copelandia species are sold in as such in foods in Bali.
Also a species I discovered and named, Psilocybe samuiensis Guzman, Bandala and Allen. which is closely related to P. mexicana and looks macroscopically similar to P. semilanceata, the liberty cap, but only grows to a height of about 3 inches and never any taller. This species does not grow directly in or from manure but grows like liberty caps and P. mexicana with the mycelia attached to the roots of wild grasses, especially in rice paddies where manure fell months before and re settled into the soils.
Also you shrooms sound like maybe they came from a company named McShroom, a cultivation farm dealer in Tiel. Or possibly from Conscious Dreams, both who make up exotic sounding names to sell their products.
Tiel was also home to the largest producer of magic mushrooms in the Nederlands called Fresh Mushrooms.
The 2nd largest cultivation farm is Pro-Care of Hazerwoud-Dorp, Nederlands.
Neither Fresh Mushrooms of Tiel or Pro-Care sell either of those mushrooms you described.
I would be interested in a more descriptive account of where you came up with the name
Quotebright blue coffin nail shaped shrooms from Thailand.
and excuse the French but
what in the hell does a coffin nail shaped shroom look like?
And why you would think they came from Thailand when whatever they are were most probably grown in the country you bought them in.
shroom - walker
IF you want to see the results of two of the largest farms in the world which grew magic shrooms, one at least 20,000 kilos a week, then go to this URL:

and have a shroomy day
Greed yeah?
Ive found that dose is not so important to the quality of experience, when it comes to entheogens. Set and setting matter a lot, and practices that move the spirit have a lot to do with how "high" a shaman will be.

I think it all matters. Context, culture, consciousness, compound....
Many stars must truly align for That to manifest.
Well, I have mixed feelings on the issue discussed by den and amom.
While I tend to agree with the position that its all important, I've had a few low-dose experiences that have shown that when the Spirit calls, little else matters if one is listening.....
lw
Well, Spirit goes where Spirit wants, and can manifest at any time. I have, on occasion, found myself firmly embedded in Spirit sans plants or chemicals, really san anything on my side. Spontaneious emergence of Ground.
But when speaking of the plants as a technology of spirit, I have found that I need to use a pretty big hammer to transcend the purely personal and move to trans- and supra-personal spaces. Dose does matter.
But other people may have other experience.
Right on, amom....
Here's my current theory: When consuming an active sacrament while alone, or in the company of few others, dose size plays a bigger role than it does while in the company of hundreds or even thousands of like-minded souls. :cool2
I chalk this up to the power between the collective consciousness and an individual tapping into that cosmic entity created by musicians/audience and active sacrament.

Indeed lw. I was contacted so hard the last time I saw the GD (1993) that my third eye was wide open for 2 days. My dose: 0 micrograms.
We caught the five shows leading up to Cal Expo back in 93. (Eugene OR and Shoreline) That was a great run, imo. I'm guessing they were still cranking on all cylinders when they hit Sacramento.
I remember NOT dosing at only a couple of dead shows over the years. And if I remember correctly, there was a stretch in 89 when we caught 15-20 in a row. :ugeek: (I'm better now. hehe)

Interesting. I have no direct experience or large encounters, but I can see this makes sense.
They sounded good. It was in May of 93. A Tuesday probably. I don't remember the date right now but I have heard people call it "the last good show".
I do remember magic was afoot. During the first set I could see the energy from the crowd flowing up to them. It looked like they were standing in the surf. We moved to the back of the stands for the second set and I saw them give it back, the amphitheater filling up like a bowl of milk.

Man, when I first read that I thought you were doing some tetragrammaton thing.
"Man, he hasn't seen G*d for 15 years? He needs to take the medicines more!"
amom: I've been scratching me head since reading your latest post in this thread mentioning "tetragrammaton". SO I researched the term and still seem to need clarification on its use in this context. (Below is the best link I found during a quick search.)
http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/rs/2/Judaism/name/ (http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/rs/2/Judaism/name/)
From the linked page: The Tetragrammaton
The covenantal name of God in the Hebrew Bible is written with the four consonants: Yodh He Waw He. This name is known as the Tetragrammaton (Greek for "the four letters"). Although the Tetragrammaton was pronounced freely at the time the Torah and Prophets were written, its holiness in Judaism is such that it is no longer pronounced, except under very rare circumstances. In order to avoid offending religious Jews, one should not pronounce or misuse this name.
Stringent rules also apply to writing any of the names of God. For example, once God's name is written it is to be neither erased nor discarded. It must be stored. This is why you see circumlocutions like "G-d," which do not need to be kept. (Recent rulings indicate that use in computer files or displays does not constitute erasing.)
Most English translations of the Bible represent the Tetragrammaton with "LORD" or "GOD" in all capital letters.
In traditional Hebrew (and I believe in the Islamic faiths too), the names of God was written without vowels -- the tetragramatron is the four consonants of the word Yahweh.
Extending this to English, "God" would be written "GD" (it's a bit affected, but I've seen people do this, usually in jest but sometimes in seriousness). So I read the original post to say "The last time I saw God (1993)...".
In other words, you need more medicine! :)
G-d might not have been at the show(it was a huge sellout) but the band played like funky angels and a splendid time was had by all.
