Title: Sunrises and Sunsets are Poetry Too
Post by: boomer2 on February 18, 2009, 09:52:12 PM
Like amber waves of grain, the golden sun sets in the west as the ferry boat approaches downtown Seattle, less than 15 minutes out from the loading dock.

Behold the majesty of the golden sunrise  behind the spire of and towering structure of the 1959 World's Fair Space Needle.

I once had some photos of Elvis Presley when he was here making the movie, "It happened at the World's Fair."  They were part of what I lost moving to Seattle from Hawaii.  U.S. Postal lost a couple of boxes with valuable shroom books, photos negatives and other valuables.  My Aunt and Uncle took them in 1959 while on a drive by from Chicago for their annual summer road trip in their discovery of the other America.

If one group of people grew up in Chicago, then the rest of the country was considered to be foreign, so it was open to family exploration.

A very poetic image from the front deck of the Ferry boat.  My five-year-old son once asked out o loud on the boat, "Daddy! Do Fairy's ride the ferry boat?"

Everyone nearby cracked up.

And here is the Golden skyline of a section of downtown photographed from the ferry boat as it neared the city returning from a shroom hunt in Bremerton, Paulsboro and Kingston, Washington.

I have other cool and somewhat colorful Seattle sunsets with Pinks and purple to blues and reds if anyone is interested in seeing some of them.

Here is one from the U-District in Seattle looking east from my back of the house enclosed porch in 2002.

This particular sunset was photographed by the parking area on the 4200 block of university Avenue facing East towards Brooklyn avenue through the Diamond Parking Lot near the Radio Shack.  It was a bluish and reddish sunset.

And here is a sunrise from somewhere in Seattle but I cannot recall where I took the picture?

Enjoy them as I did when I saw them.

And if you have any beautiful sunset or sunrises from where you live, I would greatly appreciate viewing them?  I love other photographers impressions of what their eyes are capable of putting to film and sharing it with the world.
