Maybe someone can contact them for me and see which one they are selling. If it is not $2.50 dollar price on it then it is a second edition  which had 10,000 copies sold. The first edition was only two thousand copies.  I did everything and put the book together at school.

Bought the paper.  Cut the paper, did the layouts, the paste ups, the  offset photography, developed the plate masked the negative, and printed the books on and offset press.  Then I collated the fricken thing and stapled the 2,000 books, 6 folded pages and a heavier stock for cover..

IT was a bitch

Every night after class and school was out I was in the print shop putting my book together.
No other information was offered and no photos of the blue color of the book. I tried to contact the sellers:

I was required to make a six page book of 20 copies for my finals in my graphic arts class course at Washington Technical Institute.

I asked the president of the school if I paid for the paper could I print as many copies as I wanted to and he said it was okay as long as I did not interfere with other students time on the press or at school.  After the two thousand copies sold out, I bought more paper with the money and ten thousand more copies were printed but the price increased from $2.50 a book to $3.50 a book.  One month later, I bought enough paper to print  38,000 more copies.  They sold out within over a year form the day I sold my first book.  Even Homestead Book Company  said my hand made book at times outsold their professional printed book with colored images.

That was fifty thousand copies in a little over a year.

Since July of 1976, two years ago, my book passed the 100,000 mark.

Out sold Paul Stamets' two books, "Psilocybe Mushrooms and their Allies" and "Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World."

I had previously seen my 1997 copy with 12 colored images for sale for $78.00 at amazon and at ebay, and it is sad because that is the current edition still being sold for $15.00 in the stores and through Homestead Books.

Sometimes I sell them for $10 dollars on a sales special.

Now here is the coolest part of all. My mushroom field guide was paid for by the U.S. Government.

I was awarded a $2000.00 grant through CETA (Comprehensive Employment Training Act).  They even paid me stipends for my transportation to and from school, my daily food intake and paid for childcare for my two sons while I went to school. Bought me all of my school supplies.

Now how in the hell could anyone have predicted what I would gain form that six months Graphic Arts course in a technical institute.

I got to write about what I loved and made a living from that book for the past 32 years.

Worldsreaders, is the seller at Amazon.com who is selling my book for $205.00.

but every time I clicked on the contact the seller button the amazon site kept re asking me for my password and user name. So I do not know what is up with them.

You cannot even call them.  Amazon phone is busy all day long or they just keep the line open on busy.

I have no idea if it is the $2.50 cent copy or the $3.50 cent copy.

So It may or may not be the first edition. Maybe the 2nd or third.

Also now that I remember, Raver Books my old partners in 1998-2005, somehow lost or had stolen from them about 600 copies of a black and white edition which was $7.95.  I have about 150 copies or so left of my own but never got the rest of the close to six hundred copies of 1000 printings from the Ave copy shop.  They did not steal them but someone has them or they are in a storage of theirs and have not been found since Raver books went out of business to stick to their straight Multi Books and Language company which is licensed to sell language courses they tape and market.

Anyway that is a tale of the shroom I thought everyone would get a kick out of hearing.
