Title: Hobo Stuffed Pepper
Post by: senorsalvia on July 24, 2008, 02:51:21 PM
Some folks I know mentioned stuffed pepper.. (you know, the kind with rice, oven baked etc)....  They wanted some, so I came up with this for them in a woodland camp----         Take  2lb of hamburger, 2 chopped onions, 2  coarsely chopped geen peppers, 4 small. diced Jalapeno peppers, 4 tbl worchestershire sauce, salt=pepper to taste  2 cups water....  Saute till hamburger is browned, drain grease, add 4 cups instant rice  along with 3 cups water... heat all ingredients to boiling.  reduce heat, let sit 5 min... Drain any liquid then add 3/4stick butter, {kona butter if you have some)   Let sit for 5 min and serve.....    Peeps swear it is just the same as oven cooked Stuffed Pepper n Rice.....  'course, the kona buter might alter perceptions some

Sounds swell, sal.

My only suggestion would be to roast the peppers over an open fire and then remove the blackened skin before chopping and adding to the mix.
