We all know that Israel is determined to take out Iran's nuclear capabilities no matter if it's for power or whatever. They will do this come what may. Top level israeli government officials have said as much. They did a training exercise last month which seemed to be a dress rehearsal for a raid on Iran. Shrub (Bush jr) seems to do whatever Isreal tells him to do. Obama and Mccain have not showed much more spine on the issue.
With the election coming up and Obama being at the moment ahead in the polls, shrub may be worried that Obama will call off the invasion. Shrub is already seen as the worst president in history with historicly low approval ratings. A bold move like that might put him in the history books... as the man who started ww3
Even if the invasion doesn't set off another world war, it will ignite inflation like nothing else. Iran will certainly attack Isreal and close the straight of Hormuz, through which much of the worlds oil passes.
If you are feeling the pain from $130 a barrel oil, wait until it hits $200 or $300. The subprime mess and current fuel prices will seem like a walk in the park compared to that. We will all be looking for a job then. Our current recession will slide into a depression that will most likely spread to the rest of the world.
And on top of that, we are in no position to fight anybody at this moment. Iran could probably invade us and win. We have been stretched to the max from Afghanistan and Iraq. The military men have been starved, neglected and shorted on materials. Only a fool or total idiot would invade another country right now for no good reason. Enter the shrub.
Thoughts, anyone?
I agree with most of your statements and assertions.... That said, it's my belief that The current asshole of office has, in fact, already started WW3.... The economic collapse has already begun, the mid east is continuing to ratchet closer to a nuclear blow out, the world economy is spiralling out of conrol. I could go on and enumerate more examples, but the point being, is that the Tinhorn Texan has set in motion the whole gamut of ills that bode a serious loss of life, economic stability, oil, food, freedom, security, ad nauseum.... When Israel fires off on Iran, or when we blunder too deeply across the border of Afghanistan or Pakistan; I see what will happen then as only a quicker speed warring of nations.... It's like we are now watching things in slow motion, but a true WW3 is occurring right now as we speek...........
Looks like it's going to be a bumpy ride between now and Jan 09. According to this news article, shrub has given Israel the green light to launch a preemptive attack on Iran. Or technically, an "amber" light meaning he wants to see the plans first before they go to war. Has he ever said "no" to isreal? I dont think so.
Iran has said any attack by Isreal or usa would result in attacks on Israel with their long range missiles and that they would close the straits of Hormuz where much of the world's oil passes. Oil will shoot up to between $500 and $1000 a barrel, maybe more if this happens. It'll cost you $10 to drive a mile. A world wide depression will result and that is in addition to the prospect of the war spreading far and wide.
Russia and China have expressed support for Iran. USA - Russian relations are at a low point right now. Could we be living on the eve of WW3? Stay tuned.

Bush gives Israel tentative 'OK' to strike Iran
US President George W. Bush has given Israel the go-ahead to draw up a full plan of attack to take out Iran's main nuclear facilities and to present it to him for final approval, according to a senior Pentagon official who spokes to London's Sunday Times.
The official said the president had given Israel an "amber light," explaining that "amber means get on with your preparations, stand by for immediate attack and tell us when you're ready."
Israeli officials who had previously admitted to preparing for a possible strike on Iran's nuclear facilities said that such an attack would be impossible without a green light from Washington, as Israeli planes would need to travel through US-controlled Iraqi airspace. Israel would also need America's assistance in dealing with the diplomatic aftermath.
The Pentagon source said that the Bush Administration had already determined not to attack Iran, but noted that "the president is really preoccupied with the nuclear threat against Israel and I know he doesn't believe that anything but force will deter Iran."
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is scheduled to travel to the US on Monday where he will meet with various Pentagon officials to discuss how best to handle the Iran threat.
An aide to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned on Saturday that if an attack is launched on his country's nuclear facilities, Iran will "destroy" Israel and 32 American military bases across the Middle East.
"If Israel and the US fire a bullet or a missile at Iran, its forces will attack the heart of Israel and 32 American bases in the region before the dust from such an attack has settled," Mojtaba Zolnour, Khameini's deputy representative in the Revolutionary Guards, told Iran's Fars news agency.
Iran last week held what it called a major test of its improved medium-range missile arsenal, indicating that it possessed the means to launch a substantial counter-strike against Israel.
The pentagon has since denied the report cited here. It seems that the usa is playing games of chicken while the world sits in the back seat screaming for the madness to stop.
You want to know who is winning in all this? The oil producers, that's who. Iran is winning big and so are shrub's big oil buddies. Who is losing? All the rest of us. Cheer up, the chimp has only a few more months to cause mischief. What's the worst he could do?
' The worst he can do '...... Jeez, i shudder to even contemplate.. Like you said though, we've only got a few more months.......
People scoffed when I said shrub might get us into ww3. How many are laughing now? Shrub has just sent troops into Georgia to counter the soviet invasion. Once one of them gets shot, we are at war, boys and girls. He would rather go down in history as the one who stood up to Russia than the worst president ever.

WASHINGTON - President Bush put the U.S. more firmly than ever on Georgia's side in its conflict with Russia on Wednesday, sending humanitarian aid on American military planes to help the embattled ex-Soviet republic and displaying growing impatience with Moscow's aggression.
Six days into the fighting in the tiny, impoverished country wedged between Russia and Turkey on the Black Sea, Bush said Moscow's apparent violation of a cease-fire agreement puts its aspirations for global acceptance at risk. In brief but stern remarks from the White House, the president demanded that Russia end all military activity inside its neighbor and withdraw all troops sent in recent days into Georgian territory.
Amid some fear that Russian troops may be setting up for some type of medium-term occupation of parts of Georgia or even have intentions to press on to its capital of Tbilisi, Bush promised to "rally the free world in the defense of a free Georgia."
Here is another snippet from that article
And he announced that U.S. military assets and personnel would be deploying into the conflict zone. Though they are only going on a humanitarian mission, Bush made a point of noting that "we will use U.S. aircraft, as well as naval forces" to distribute supplies. He warned Russia not to impede relief efforts in any way.
Shrub's poll numbers couldn't get any lower, going to war might bring them uip. But at what cost?
