We are going to the shindig that's gonna be at Hippie Hill in Golden Gate Park. Anyone else gonna go?
---- :) ---- YAY 'fer 'y!!! So many great memories of that place... I'll be with you in spirit... Have a great time and enjoy..........sal
So y'all missed a pretty damn good party. If you were there we were the two old people that brought our chairs sitting in the drum circle.
There were so many people put the streets were teeming like it was 1967. A nice touch was all these people in bathrobes lining up in front of the Red Vic Theater to see a screening of The Big Lebowski. After we bailed from Hippie Hill, we walked on Haight St, then down up Cole to this great Italian resteraunt, then drove to Ocean Beach for the sunset.
What a great day!!
Where in the park is hippie hill, jrl? (The panhandle under the haight?)
Sounds like a great time was had by all.
Long time no drum circle...

If you enter the park at the end of Haight St, go through the tunnel on the left, then bear right, you are at Hippie Hill. It was a great time, could have been better cause a couple of ego trippers were drawing down the energy, but still and all it was great.
Nice to see the generational spread. Some old hippies, older than us, a few yuppies with there fashionable djembies, old hispanic men who have been playing congas in the park forever, and lots of young kids. One old guy TJ dubed santa clause who had a motorized chair with a frame around it with lights on it, giving out hits of weed from a long pipe wth a jade bowl. People selling shirts, jewlery, pipes and weed. Dogs wearing clothes. Bemused cops riding through on bicycles. A kickball tournament.ah, San Francisco.......................................
Know I know hippie hill. There are a couple of trees on that slope that are so people friendly.
A little further on is a great space with HUGE cypress trees on the corners and I think a little stone building on one end. That place is magic, I tell you.
I can picture the day, bro. Thanks for the low-down.

I love San Francisco! :)
Kickball, eh? Man, I used to love that game.
In the late 80's there were organized volleyball tourneys before a few Dead shows in Oakland. Those were the daze...

It was kinda time warpy. It was real SF shit, with a huge mix of different folks. And it wasn't ALL peace and cannabis flowers, when we came up to the party this big guy with prison tatoos was trying to fight somebody. But the good vibes prevailed, I didn't even see what happened to him.
But GG Park is filled with magic places, its one of my favorite places in the world.
Why do I get the feeling that Andrew edmond is on here?
